Even the use of a taser would not guarantee the subject would be stopped, and would leave little time for the officer to draw his weapon. With a suspect armed with a knife, there is a standard 21 foot guideline. This does give the officer time to protect himself. It's not a written rule, just a guideline. I thought for sure that he was a goner. For some reason I even felt sorry for him. But I got over it. 😬 That officer had EVERY REASON/RIGHT to protect himself.
