Australia is pushing for a further cracking down on free speech in the form of NEW "hate speech laws." "New laws will be created carrying criminal rather than civil penalties." This push comes after a reported rise in anti-Semitism in Australia over the past year. Most recently a synagogue was set on fire in Melbourne last week & last night graffiti sprayed saying 'Kill Israiel' in a well known Jewish community in Sydney. "If we need to change laws in the state when it comes to hate speech - that's what we will do. I don't do that lightly, it is impinging on people's rights." Chris Minns

PSA; this new law is designed to silence criticism of free speech in colleges and K-12 schools across the United States It would change the definition of antisemitism to include that being against Israel and criticizing it is antisemitic If this was truly to protect American Jews they would use the JDA definition which protects free political speech. We must stand against this.
