We have never seen any other fire bender sustain that much electricity going through his body for such an extended period of time. It's crazy to me that just because Mako was a terrible boyfriend they think he's not an incredible bender 😅

Only other person that may contend from Korra (outside of the avatar herself) is Iroh II, he uses fire jets for decent amount of flight time and has the best long range fire bending I think we see in the series.

If Mako were a truly interesting character with a compelling development arc, this scene could have been amazing, and technically speaking it is (the tension, the soundtrack, everything), but unfortunately, I personally didn’t feel connected enough to the character to care.

My only regret is that mako didn’t get some special bending technique (like unlock one technique or invent it ) I wanted to see a new firebending technique and bolin had lava maybe mako got something related to chi or being able to predict someone’s moves with bending or 1/2
