We're making some changes to the departure boards at Glasgow Central. From tomorrow, train information on display will be removed 90 seconds before departure, instead of the current 60 seconds. This change will help prevent falls as people run to catch a service. Glasgow Central

@NetworkRailGLC One of the things that would help facilitate less falls would be announcing the departure platform slightly earlier to avoid the rush that i see daily

@NetworkRailGLC Maybe if people weren't waiting at the boards for the whatever.45 to Ayr and it wasn't going from the front of platform 12 which is the furthest away and wasn't only getting announced 3 minutes before it left then there wouldn't be people running !

@NetworkRailGLC Or MAYBE you could just tell us the platform with more notice than 5 minutes before it leaves so that people can actually make it on time 🤷🏻‍♀️ wild suggestion I know.

@NetworkRailGLC Ludicrous, especially given how many trains are late in departing.

@NetworkRailGLC How many people fall when running for the train, per year?

@NetworkRailGLC Can you stop the trains leaving the platform before the time announced? That might stop people running for them too..

@NetworkRailGLC How about you announce the platform earlier, and don’t have such short trains?

@NetworkRailGLC It’s just f’ing idiotic what Scotrail does - it’s a mad f’ing dash for the platform, a couple of minutes after displaying.. why leave to have a build up of people and a huge rush… no wonder people fall. Who makes these asinine decisions? They should be fired!

@NetworkRailGLC Quite amazing that you can see what platform a train is leaving from on the app a good 5 minutes before it’s on the departure board. Maybe just get the platform on the board quicker.

@NetworkRailGLC If train doors shut 30secs before departure then train info should be up until then. How confusing to look at a board checking you’ve got the right platform and it’s disappeared before it’s meant to depart?! Platform info being up much earlier would be a better idea!
