Vivek’s spot-on. Shuttering coal plants while demand skyrockets is pure bureaucratic malpractice. Biden’s EPA strangled baseload power with impossible carbon capture mandates, forcing over 1,000 plants offline since 2020. FERC data shows existing coal plants generate power at $34/MWh—cheaper than new wind or solar. They’re also fuel-secure, stockpiling 60+ days of on-site coal vs. four-hour batteries. The grid lost 50+ gigawatts of reliable capacity in a decade, yet we’re pouring billions into unreliable renewables. Reversing this insanity starts with scrapping the Clean Power Plan 2.0 and letting plants run full capacity. Energy security isn’t optional—it’s survival.
