We’ve introduced British Sign Language onto our Customer Information Screens at Doncaster station to provide our D/deaf passengers with up to date travel information in BSL. If this trial is successful, we plan to roll out to London North Eastern Railway’s other stations. (The video👇 has only background sound)

@LNER Forgive my ignorance but why, if you can see the screen, see the writing on the screen, do you need someone to "sign" it ?

@LNER Prior to covid hitting us all we (The ULRs at Edinburgh) ran a short 6 week BSL course. It was so well received by staff and to now see a roll out of BSL company wide is excellent. To learn this unique and vital form of communication is a massive plus.

@LordOrk @LNER How about more information screens at eye level ? The only one at York station that I can read is in the First Class Lounge, from which I was politely ‘thrown out’ despite having a First Class ticket for Transpennine. #AccessFail

@LNER For live announcements? Great. For information already on the board adding further complexity with little to no advantage…?

@LNER Saw this last week in action at Doncaster - good initiative 👍

@GarethDennis @LNER Saw this on Sunday at Doncaster, really good idea! 👍

@LNER Hmm conflicted on this. I feel like it should be on a separate screen. You can even see in this video that the man is blocking key information behind him, which seems like bad design. It also seems like overkill for one screen to hold so much information.

@LNER Really good thinking and really going the step ahead. Great work

@LNER Hopefully it proves to be a success and we see this in Peterborough too!

@LNER I noticed this last week and commented what a brilliant idea 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
