Another 1st time experience with Tesla Robotaxi, this time with Alvaro who came in with his friend dom from Salt Lake City, Utah to give it a try! Alvaro is not very familiar with Tesla or autonomous driving, so he tried out all of the various ride hailing options here in Austin to get a good baseline for comparison. He tried a human-driven Uber, a few Waymo autonomous drives & the Tesla_AI autonomously driven Tesla Robotaxi & he has some very interesting and insightful observations! At the end of the day what did he conclude? Check it out!

It's an honor to be the first Korean🇰🇷 to experience Tesla's robotaxi. (With Seung) Came from Korea to Austin, Texas for 12,500KM(7,700mile) to meet a robotaxi. Definitely one of the best choices of my life. Robotaxi is the future of autonomy. You can feel quite safe, and the App is user-friendly. I'm grateful that I can act and feel Tesla's technology and culture, all of this. I have come to believe more that the business of this robotaxi will do well in the future, and this is a must for South Korea as well. Thank you to both Tesla Robotaxi team and Elon Musk for providing an incredible experience!

Tesla now has 72 robotaxi in Austin. This is twice as much as 2 weeks ago and 22 were added in the last 3 days. There are 232 cars in Austin and the Bay Area. Only 137 different license plates for Waymos have been seen in Austin. Tesla can pass Waymo in number of cars in Austin. Tesla has registered 1655 cars in the Bay Area. Tesla can add those cars and they have over 700 registered drivers if they wanted to to deploy cars with safety drivers. Tesla has over 50,000 miles of driving needed for safety submission in California. 1500+ in SF Bay Area and 500+ is possible for Tesla robotaxi in February or March. Elon Musk Jo Bhakdi

As expected, Tesla’s Model Y ride-hailing service in the Bay Area currently has a safety driver in the driver’s seat, which is why Tesla is calling it a ride-hailing service rather than a Robotaxi service. It is still a paid service though and is likely using the same software as the Austin Robotaxis. Once Tesla receives the required permit, they will remove the safety driver and instead have a safety monitor in the passenger seat like they do in Austin. That could happen within the next 1–2 months, according to Elon.

Here is my experience (in 4K) from earlier today in one of the world's first ever public Tesla Robotaxi rides in Austin, Texas with FSD Unsupervised! No-one is in the driver seat and the safety monitor in the passenger seat does not have a steering or pedals. It was awesome.

I spent the past 2 days taking Robotaxi rides with Emmet Peppers in Austin, TX. At the start he was excited but as an investor he was intentionally trying to be critical and find flaws. We had some interesting discussions on each ride. We both agreed that trying Robotaxi in person is so different than viewing videos online. There's much more to take in and experience in person. At the end, Robotaxi had won Emmet over. Every ride was nearly perfect. It's really hard to believe what Tesla has done.

Zero unsupervised Robotaxis in North Austin since yesterday • It “did not” come from highway I-35 • This one had a monitor in the driver seat • Didn’t even have Robotaxi decal • There’s no change in long wait times in fact the walking distance to pick up spot has increased; no more picking up from my doorstep like it used to • Adjusting pin doesn’t work as it has predefined pick up and drop off spots • Same one vehicle shows up over and over all day, yesterday it was 5431 Ashok Elluswamy Tesla Tesla_AI Tesla Robotaxi Ethan McKanna Robotaxi Tracker

My 50th robotaxi ride posted in full. What an amazing time. Huge congratulations to Tesla AI Elon Musk Ashok Elluswamy and everyone involved. Still a long road ahead, but this was a big step in the right direction. And huge thank you to anyone that enjoys my content. None of this would have been possible without you.

I just don’t see a future where Uber, Lyft, and even Waymo can compete with Tesla Robotaxi. As a passenger, there’s no experience close to what Cybercab provides. It’s cheaper than an Uber, and feels more like an extension of your living room than just a taxi ride. In the video below, I watched the entire SpaceX Starship docuseries during my ~45 min Cybercab ride in Austin. From a manufacturing and production standpoint, Tesla will scale to rolling a Cybercab off the production line in 10 seconds or less. Tesla builds the core pieces in-house…batteries, AI software, hardware, compute etc. Other companies can’t say the same thing.

2412 Florida trip: my first ever FSD ride behind the "steering wheel". I have watched so many videos of , , ΛI DRIVR and Dirty Tesla but experiencing it on my own is a whole different story. It is such an eye-opener for the European folks - just wow!!! Thank you Tesla Tesla North America for having the chance to test drive your vehicles so effortlessly and thanks to the great staff in Tesla Store Miami Design District. This drive was done with FSD v12.5.4.2 on a 2024 Model 3 with AI4. ...please don't judge my video / audio - I am absolute beginner :)

Elon Musk launches the new CYBERCab. It will be sold for just $30,000. The Tesla Cybercab is a new electric car made for ride-hailing, like a self-driving Uber. It carries two people and drives itself completely, so it has no steering wheel or pedals. Tesla plans to start making it in April 2026. The car has a sharp, futuristic look and opens with butterfly-style doors. Tesla says it will cost less than $30,000. Owners will be able to put their Cybercab on Tesla’s robotaxi network to earn money. This car is part of Tesla’s plan to make transportation cheaper and fully self-driving.

Tesla Club Austria brought about 20 people from at least 5 countries to Austin to try out the Robotaxi service, tour Tesla Giga Texas, the The Boring Company & Hyperloop Plaza & then travel to Starbase. Their 1st stop was to get some drives in the Robotaxi with me around the city! We also were able to get three people in the rear seat this time, which is a new addition to the terms of service in the Austin area. The safety monitor was in the passenger seat for this ride. What did they think of the experience? Check it out & I hope Europe is able to someday be approved to get FSD & Robotaxi service too. My heart is still melting from last week! 🥰 My sweet son had the cutest moment explaining to Franz how we won the Tesla Vision Contest! 😍 We - I and artem are so deeply grateful, truly honored, and incredibly privileged for this amazing opportunity. It all happened because we just happened to be flying to LA, and the wonderful Tesla Club Austria needed to deliver their gift to Franz. Thanks to their trust in us, we got to personally hand it to him! ✈️🙌 And let me tell you, Franz Franz von Holzhausen is sooo very nice, kind, and humble—his warmth made this moment even more special, and his awesome assistant, Olivia, worked her magic to make it all real.💖 We can’t thank you enough for this unforgettable experience. We’ll treasure it forever! 💖 Tesla Tesla Europe, Middle East & Africa Elon Musk Maye Musk

TESLA OPENS ROBOTAXI APP WORLDWIDE AS DRIVERLESS ERA ACCELERATES Tesla has taken its next giant step toward a global autonomous future. The company expanded access to its Robotaxi app beyond North America, allowing users across Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia, Taiwan, Macau, New Zealand, and Mexico to download the platform for the first time. Robotaxi, Tesla’s ride-hailing service powered by its Full Self-Driving technology, is already running pilot programs in Texas, California, and Arizona, with Miami, Houston, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Dallas next in line. The vehicles have already logged over 550,000 autonomous miles, most from the Bay Area and Austin, and now Tesla is aiming to prove it can scale the system globally. Tesla’s focus is twofold: rapid expansion and full autonomy. The company is working to remove in car safety monitors, using new in cabin data systems to support passengers remotely instead of relying on human supervisors. If successful, Tesla will unlock a new transportation model where rides summon themselves and cars earn income while their owners sleep. The age of human drivers is ending, and Tesla’s Robotaxi network is steering the world straight into it. Source: TESLARATI Tesla
