What are your thoughts on AI 3D models? I could see it being useful for blockout to test out concepts, but it's unusable for any final assets You would have to retopologise both of these, but AI gets 90% of the way there. Some manual cleanup and these would... show more

generative 3D does not deliver assets that are "90% of the way there" you only needed 60 minutes to sculpt this and have a mesh that is much better and easier to work with for many professional use cases we do not use gen3D!

Coral AI is the most powerful AI for documents. See the difference yourself:

what do our thoughts matter when its built completely on plagiarism? lets see how it does without the infringement

As a tool, he'll yeah. Just gotta walk that fine line between ai content slop and ai assisted workflows that save you time in the long run

Yeah exactly, in my case I could see it being used just to get the model started, that's always the most time consuming part and after that is when the actual hard work begins (Retopology, sculpting, texturing etc)

I would rather have control over my blockout there is too much to fix on the Ai model that just becomes a waste of time and would cause baking errors for the low poly

I used twice for a studio job, but it was not worth it. The proportions are wonky and all the details get merged together. I spent almost the same time refining and cutting the model into pieces.

In a lot of cases I don’t care about topology. What’s difficult for me, is it struggles with specificity. By the time I fight it to get something specific, then retopo etc, I would have been better off just making it myself. Not to mention paying for credits.

That "sculpt" is pretty sus

I agree, recently a client up with this idea to reduce time and budget expenses on the sculpt/modeling department using 3D AI generated models based on images I was quite surprised about the outcome, but retopology it’s a must to get better geometry overall. In any case it’s useful but installing the idea to reduce costs it’s kind of an ethical dilemma right now all over the industry.

This model called Sparc3D seems to be the most advanced and practically generates near-perfect models:
