What does "Salafi" mean?

salafia means "Ahl Sunna wa Jamaa". those who follow the Quran and the Sunna with the understanding of the Salaf and rejecting bidaa and shirk. Ashaaris and Maturdis are not part of Ahl Sunna but they are Ahl Bidaa. not everyone who says he is salafi is a salafi.

Ibn taymiyyah affirms labeling yourself as a Salafi. And this is a matter of linguistic labels and terminologies, what’s obligatory is following that methodology rather than giving yourself the term. If someone doesn’t wish to call themself a Salafi but acts upon that path -
