🖨️ It took over a year and lots of help from Claude Code but I have now been able to create a real dot matrix printer on the web that prints from Windows 3.11 in your browser: Here's the test page: I couldn't get the LPT1 port to work but COM2 did work (the dial up model already uses COM1), the JS receives the COM2 serial data (just raw print data) and then prints it Next is to make the dot matrix printer better looking (kinda 3d like on pieter dot com) and have the paper also flowing in 3d out of the printer and integrate it on the page My idea was that it might work because we also capture the COM1 data (from the dial up modem) and send it to a Websocket as a dial up connection, so we should be able to capture the COM2 traffic too but I didn't know how, but now I do IT WORKS!! 😊

Research one source, keep it open, open another tab, compare them side by side, and keep moving. Check a few products before buying something. Look at multiple hotel or travel options at once. Keep a YouTube tutorial open in one tab while Hermes looks through docs or another page in the next. And because this lives inside Hermes Desktop, you are not limited to one basic browser view either. You can keep multiple tabs open. You can view two pages side by side. My wife woke up with a terrible headache and was contemplating calling in sick. I was like call in sick for what now?! I reminded her that provision is her shield in this marriage and that if she loses this job, I’d be left with no option but to disrespect and beat her because I’m wired to beat a woman who doesn’t provide. If i am doing the most difficult job on earth by cleaning the house, washing plates, taking care of the home whether I’m sick or not, the least she can do is go to work. I just dropped her off at work and now I’m heading back home to take care of the home. Her mates are working harder, making more money and hiring maid and letting their husbands rest and look fine, the least she can do is be consistent at work. I have prayed to God to heal her and grant her strength for today and the rest of the week.

The scary part about AI in CAD is not that GPT can extrude a shape. It is that it can now build a mechanism where multiple parts actually have to agree with each other. Using GPT + Autodesk Fusion MCP, this project turns into a mechanical iris assembly with a base plate, eight overlapping blades, a drive ring, a cover, mounting holes, and relationships between the components. One blade is easy. The annoying part is repeating it around the same center, keeping every pivot aligned, fitting the mechanism between the surrounding plates, and making the whole assembly stay coherent as more geometry gets added. That is where MCP starts getting interesting. GPT is no longer treating Fusion like a place to dump some 3D geometry. It is working inside the actual CAD structure, where components, relationships, repeated parts, and the assembly itself all matter. That is a much bigger deal than text-to-3D. Because once an AI agent can reliably build and modify mechanisms instead of isolated shapes, a surprisingly large chunk of mechanical CAD starts looking like something you describe, inspect, and correct rather than model feature by feature.

I used to think 3D was way too much work for a quick creative idea Then I tried this workflow in MiniMax Design GPT-6 Astra can work with Blender to build the 3D scene from a natural-language prompt, which honestly changes how I think about 3D creation I don’t need to start by figuring out every Blender operation myself I can just describe the scene I have in mind and let Astra handle the technical side Then I can take that 3D result straight into H3 Max Turbo and turn it into a video And the speed here is no joke 15s video → 20s generation Starting at $0.018/s That makes experimenting with different ideas feel so much less expensive in terms of time But the more I use MiniMax Design, the more I realize 3D is only one part of it GPT Image 2.5 opens up another route — generate the visuals and storyboards first, then use H3 Max Turbo to bring those shots together into a video So now I’m basically playing with two different creative paths: Astra + Blender → 3D → H3 Max Turbo GPT Image 2.5 → Storyboard → H3 Max Turbo And having all of these connected inside MiniMax Design makes the whole process feel much more flexible Honestly, I started this just wanting to see what Astra could do with 3D Now I’m way more curious about what happens when I start mixing all these workflows together
