We trained a humanoid with 22-DoF dexterous hands to assemble model cars, operate syringes, sort poker cards, fold/roll shirts, all learned primarily from 20,000+ hours of egocentric human video with no robot in the loop. Humans are the most scalable embodiment on the planet. We discovered a near-perfect log-linear scaling law (R² = 0.998) between human video volume and action prediction loss, and this loss directly predicts real-robot success rate. Humanoid robots will be the end game, because they are the practical form factor with minimal embodiment gap from humans. Call it the Bitter Lesson of robot hardware: the kinematic similarity lets us simply retarget human finger motion onto dexterous robot hand joints. No learned embeddings, no fancy transfer algorithms needed. Relative wrist motion + retargeted 22-DoF finger actions serve as a unified action space that carries through from pre-training to robot execution. Our recipe is called "EgoScale": - Pre-train GR00T N1.5 on 20K hours of human video, mid-train with only 4 hours (!) of robot play data with Sharpa hands. 54% gains over training from scratch across 5 highly dexterous tasks. - Most surprising result: a *single* teleop demo is sufficient to learn a never-before-seen task. Our recipe enables extreme data efficiency. - Although we pre-train in 22-DoF hand joint space, the policy transfers to a Unitree G1 with 7-DoF tri-finger hands. 30%+ gains over training on G1 data alone. But for domains like dexterous manipulation, they are often not quite good enough: they move slowly, miss grasps, make unreliable contact, and fail under small perturbations. Feeling what a robot feels is becoming real! 🫰 Fluid Reality just ran its first full end-to-end touch teleoperation system, and the demo shows why high-resolution haptics might be the missing piece in robot control. A 22 mm fingertip display with 32 independently actuated “bubbles” was mapped directly to tactile sensors on a robot hand. 🫧 Three fingers streamed real-time touch data robot → human, giving the operator actual contact feedback instead of waving their hands blind, like most teleop systems today. So I heard we need more data for robot learning :) Purely real world teleop is expensive and slow, making large scale data collection challenging. I’ve been excited about getting more data into robot learning, going beyond just real-world teleop data. To this end, we’ve been scaling up data generation with RL in realistic simulations generated on the fly from crowdsourced videos. Enables realistic data collection, much more cheaply than purely real world teleop. As a wrap up of the year 2025, we are releasing GR-Dexter, a holistic hardware-model-data framework for generalist manipulation on a bimanual dexterous-hand robot. This looks like another step toward removing the data bottleneck in robotics. The bottleneck exists because recording demonstrations is easy, but labeling every grasp, hold, move, and release is slow and expensive. Perceptron Egocentric dropped a new robotics video annotation system. You give it raw robot-camera or first-person/egocentric video. It gives back structured labels that look more like training data: where each small manipulation starts and ends, what the subtask is, what each hand is doing, where the hands are frame by frame, and which hand is left or right. So, Input: raw video of a person or robot doing a task. Output: a machine-readable breakdown of the physical actions inside that video. Basically, it is a machine that converts robot video into policy-training supervision. That means timestamps, subtask boundaries, per-hand actions, and left-right hand grounding. So this will turn large piles of robot or egocentric video into supervision for training robot policies.

A scaling law that transfers from human video to robot performance. Dyna-2 is out and it's 🔥 Here's what that means in plain terms. Dyna-2 was pre-trained on ONE MILLION hours of egocentric human video, 170 years of continuous human experience, cooking, folding, assembling, cleaning. And as that human data scaled, robot performance improved. Predictably. Monotonically. Across 39 tasks on two different robot embodiments the model had never seen. → 1,000 hours pre-training → 20% normalised task performance → 10,000 hours → 28% → 100,000 hours → 45% → 1,000,000 hours → 53% Human video exists at effectively unlimited scale. Every cook, every factory worker, every craftsperson wearing a camera is generating training data for future robots. But the finding that stunned even the researchers, world modeling is what makes the transfer work. A model trained to predict future video AND actions massively outperforms one trained on actions alone. Video is the new scaling axis for robotics. One more jaw-dropping data point. 13 minutes of teleoperation data was enough to fine-tune Dyna-2 to open a bottle cap using two five-fingered robot hands. 15–30 minutes of real-world robot data. That's now enough to go from sim-to-real failure to working robot. Let’s see… You train a robot in simulation. You deploy it in the real world. It fails. The physics don't match. So you try to fine-tune it with real data, but… you never have enough real data, and the fine-tuning breaks everything the simulation taught it. SimDist fixes this with one key decision: don't transfer the policy. Transfer the world model. Keep the reward and value knowledge from simulation frozen. Only update the part that's actually wrong, how the robot predicts physics. Now the robot doesn't have to relearn the entire task in the real world. It already knows what success looks like. It just needs to correct its understanding of how the real world moves. The part that makes this work: they also trained on failures and recoveries; not just perfect demonstrations. Without that, the planner finds the gaps and exploits them. With it, the robot can tell a good future from a bad one. That's all it needs. Results on peg insertion, table leg assembly, locomotion on slippery and uneven surfaces. Tasks that require precision, force, and quick reaction.
