@_NateNorman Honestly, when done correctly, they shape up real fast. The father in the video above is lacking. Where is he?

I'm certainly not videotaping the interaction, that's for sure.

First of all that would never be my kid...that is trained spoiled. Mom is more concerned about filming than mothering that's her problem

My internet company allows me to pause devices without turning off the internet itself. My children tested the waters just like that once. Their devices went silent. It didn't take long for them to give up.

The WiFi will be returned when the appropriate behavior returns

Those kids are addicts. People really underestimate what screen time does to kids.

🤣take the iPad and they don’t get it for 1 month. This is a problem that has progressed since the time they were 3 though. The poor mother should have a father there backing her up. That’s the #1 problem.

Better do something. Allowing this to continue without correction has gotten America into the jam it is in today.

Start by not recording & posting this. Then likely take a long look in the mirror and evaluate my parenting

The iPad in question would have a very bad day. The kid could only earn it back in push-ups at one penny per push-up. They will pay full retail price. this will continue happening to every screen they interact with until their behavior ceases. this includes all tablets, video game consoles, and television screens.

My children have a father so this isn't going to happen.

Not the kids fault. The parent thinks a device is a baby sitter - it is actually digital drugs and the kids experience withdrawal symptoms.

Problem is her rules were never really rules to begin with. The punishments were never severe enough to the point they were worse than disobeying them. Overtime, they just learned to be unruly. Very hard to resolve now. This isn't even entitlement. This is just kids being "wise". They know they can get away with it. Will take a lot of extreme discipline from the parents to get them back on track. Tough place to be now.

That would never be my kids. Why does he even have an iPad?! This is 1000% the parent’s fault.

My children would never be allowed to address me in those tones! They went to bed when I told them to go to bed. I set those rules when they were 2 years old. I established they were the kids and I am the Parent. I am an Alpha Male and both my boys know it! By the way I never had to spank them. I also never argued with them. It was not up to discussion. I never threatened . I just took away the toy.

Not parenting. My kids would NEVER talk to me like this and I never once spanked them BTW.

The minute she didn’t crack down she was in trouble. Once she gave in and allowed that behavior to win and extra hour, it was over. She has no authority there

Pick up, carry to their room, remove any devices, toys or distractions. Shut off the light and hold the door closed until they're asleep.

The mom exploits those kids on her TikTok making vids of them acting out of control and pranking. Both parents are involved and this is what they raised.

Step 1: remain emotionless (in my house discipline is a matter of fact skill, either the kids do it for themselves or parents will do it for them) Step 2: physically remove electronics and “disassemble” them before meeting the trashcan Step 3: spankings like Oprah was giving out cars and money Step 4: bed Step 5: if this didn’t work repeat with every toy, item of value until they had nothing left or submitted to parental authority. I can’t help but notice Dad isn’t around…… Strong fathers will prevent this behavior so strong mothers won’t have to put up with it.

That would not be my child. That shit did not happen overnight. The parents created the situation.

- Not recording for "internet clout" - Tablets gone for an absolute minimum of 2 weeks (all other screens too) - The minimum because if attitudes turn around, we can get back to reasonable screen times (1 hour per day), but happy to keep them gone as long as it takes - They would either go to their room for bedtime (nobody forcing you to sleep, but room time) or they would be out in the front yard with me doing pushups and squats until one of us can't stand up anymore - I would be evaluating our meals, nutrition, current screen time, exercise, and waking hours. Adjust as needed. More protein, less sugar, more exercise (play), wake up earlier, no naps, etc. - If I'm being transparent, keep screaming at me like that and I would be so loud that nobody in my house would be able to talk over me. Leave no doubt in anybody's mind that the games are over. - Go to bed wondering how I let me kids get so far off track

Recognize addict behavior. Remove addiction source. Prepare for behavior to worsen before it improves. Once it does, live in more peace.

Spank the kid immediately. The child needs to be forced to immediately submit and comply.
