It was the same 5 people writing everybody’s songs

Forgot one! I know it’s “LaLa” but still same era and they probably changed it because of all the other songs

1997 called in and they said they want their “nana’s” back:

They're odes to their gods Inanna (Ishtar-Venus), Nana (Sin-Moon god), and Ra (Apollo-Sun god) People are singing along oblivious to the fact they're actually praising real demons

What's my name- Rihanna Let me love you- Bieber 1,161 Come and get it- Selena Gomez Why try- Ariana grande Into you- Jlo & lil Wayne What makes you beautiful- 1D Don't know this one Right now (na na na) - Akon Drunk in love-Beyoncé Havana- Camilla cabello We are young - Fun Na na na- MCR Kissing strangers- DNCE No promises- cheat codes Replay- lyaz I got you- Bebe rexha Can't hold us- Macklemore Who says- Selena Gomez na na- Trey Songz did i miss any?

Great gap filler for little or no ability to write coherent lyrics 😂

2018 Drake was truly one of the greatest run in music history

Here’s another instance from 2002:

Life was sweeter back then and all people needed to hear to dance was na na na

I actually looked into this a few years back. A lot of the ‘na-na’s and ‘la-la’s you hear in music came from demo tracks. Writers used them as placeholders in reference vocals. Sometimes the team just liked how it felt or didn’t bother changing it. Easy to sing, and catchy. 🤷🏾♂️

I’m guessing but I think 6 people write 90% of hit songs, and also these are parts of a song that any international audience could sing along to without knowing the language.

the 2010s broke a cardinal rule

I'm just realizing this

Drake’s friend Jay predicts the success of his rap career in 2006

“Na na na” initially started in India 1000s of years ago when they’d sing their spiritual hymns/mantras and they believed it stimulated the throat chakra, The repetition of the sound is known to also stimulate dopamine and its catchy lol

early 2010s the best era ever

Same songwriters writing all the hits

Me trying to find one of these songs…

BBC News Reporter accidentally gets a contact high and can’t finish report

song publishing companies are obsessed with short term trends and actively request songs that are similar to other currently popular songs, just like the game and movie industry. so.. the reason is basically incompetence at the executive level i guess.

Ooh's, Aah's, and Nanas are generally filler for when the writer didn't know what to put there and deadlines are tight. I don't think it's always a conscious decision, but when the same few people write every song it does happen.

The Science is R Kelly Being one of the Greatest Artist, Song Writer & Producer

Full breakdown

It's called laziness. Also known as scat singing.

The best thing produced by the internet.

Nana-gate 2010s: when music decided simplicity was the ultimate sophistication. Or was it just laziness? Either way, it was a vibe! 🎶😂

From around two years old, Gavril Scherbenko demonstrated an incredible talent for the piano.

Wasn’t lala a thing before? Maybe people were sick of that.

because only 2 people write all the top 40 songs lol, no need to study. they use circle of fifths math concepts

Paola & Chiara originally invented this iconic "nay nay naaa" lyrics in pop music in the global hit "Vamos A Bailar" (2000), so basically then they all followed that successful path

This bro took it very seriously 😂

It’s some stupid shit - we’ll call it the brainrot of the 2010’s

best times
