It’s amazing to me how many people that are voting no on this amendment are comparing marijuana to alcohol. There is no comparison. Alcohol is far worse and causes more problems than marijuana.

We also discussed what these changes mean not only for Zimbabwe but for the entire region, particularly South Africa, which has borne the brunt of migration from Zimbabwe, both legal and illegal, driven largely by the country’s prolonged economic and political crises. What happens in Zimbabwe never stays in Zimbabwe. Political instability, economic decline, and democratic backsliding inevitably have consequences for neighbouring countries. In the video, an ICE agent didn’t like being watched, called local police… Then suddenly, the U.S. citizen, exercising his constitutional rights, was surrounded by FIVE cop cars. And most ridiculous part? The officers who claimed “reasonable suspicion” for detaining the U.S. citizen, could not even answer this simple question… Is it legal to observe and record law enforcement? After refusing to answer, and arguing about the First Amendment for several minutes, the officer finally admitted… Yes. It is legal to observe and record law enforcement. So, if it’s a legally protected activity… then why was this U.S. citizen detained? Federal courts, across the country, have repeatedly recognized that the First Amendment protects the right to record and observe government officials… including law enforcement performing their duties in public… as long as you aren’t interfering with them. That means, local police, and ICE agents, don’t get to decide when that right applies… They don’t get to ignore the Constitution because they’re uncomfortable with public oversight. But this isn’t the only incident. Across America, we’re watching local law enforcement work alongside ICE, while ordinary citizens, journalists, and legal observers are being questioned, detained, and intimidated for exercising their constitutional rights. And the fact that a U.S. citizen had to educate the officers, who were detaining HIM, about the Constitution… should outrage every single person. 🚨ICE agents were filmed assaulting a group of U.S. citizens for no reason, in California. In the video, ICE agents walked up to a group of U.S. citizens while they were filming, on public property, and then started shoving them. Then, they escalated even further, pointing pepper spray at multiple people who were doing nothing but recording, before casually walking back to their cars and leaving. No additional arrests, no threat identified, no justification given… just force. So, let’s call this what it is… A violation of the First Amendment. You have a protected right to film law enforcement in public… These people weren’t interfering with anything… ICE agents approached them and retaliated against them for exercising that right. That’s unconstitutional. And then there’s the Fourth Amendment… Law enforcement cannot use force without justification. They cannot walk up to civilians, put hands on them, and escalate to threats of chemical force because they feel like it. Shoving people who pose no threat and pointing pepper spray at people who are standing is excessive force… and it’s an unlawful seizure, even if it only lasts seconds. And the pattern here is what everyone should pay attention to. They finish an arrest…then turn to the bystanders. They don’t de-escalate, they expand the confrontation. They don’t leave, they intimidate. Because if federal agents can walk up to you on a sidewalk and assault you for exercising your first amendment rights… then your rights don’t exist.
