Sabeer, i love you. But this is a terrible solution. 1. Goons working for candidates can force people to given their phones so they can elect on their behalf. 2. If the voter casts the votes herself, they could coerce her to hand over the phone to confirm that she has voted for their candidate or ensure she faces consequences (they will force them to give them their password or make them authenticate themselves using biometrics). 3. There is no fool proof way for AI of detecting distress, there will be tens of millions of false negatives and false positives. Do you just invalidate those votes that indicate coercion? What is the redressal mechanism can those whose votes are invalidated can follow? 4. What if the govt decides to purchase the software from a company that complies with make sure that votes from a particular region or language are prone to be recognised as being under duress? 5. What about those families where the entire family uses one phone. Can the wife or the daughter keep her vote secret from the patriarch of the family? 6. Blockchains too aren't reliable guarantors of security of >50% of machines are captured by a malicious actor. Some things are too important to be digitized. Germany decided to have electronic votes, but then reversed course. In India too, electronic voting machines have long been suspected of being tampered with. There are a zillion things that can be improved in India with technology. This particular idea of yours requires careful deliberation, education, widespread consultations with tens of millions of voters. Let's not rush into this. Let's pick the lower hanging fruits first.
