The Secret Service is spot-on—clear communication during major events is non-negotiable. But let’s not pretend coordination alone justifies blank checks. The Army’s 250th parade is a proud moment, but taxpayers deserve transparency on costs. Take the National Garden for America’s 250th Anniversary Act (H.R. 2377)—$55M for a monument while vets still fight for care? Celebrate service, yes, but prioritize spending that actually honors it. JICs should streamline truth, not greenlight pork.

I finished reading the biography of John Adams, and the admiration & respect Adams had for George Washington was beautiful. When it seemed like America was going to war with France, Adams appointed Washington to lead the army AGAIN. I can't wait to watch "Young Washington," the movie that will be released on America's 250th birthday. Watching the John Adams show made me read the book. I hope this one will make me do the same. We need to see way more films about the Founding Fathers. #YoungWashingtonPartner

Preparations for the massive military parade in Washington, D.C. for the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army on June 14th, which also happens to be the 79th birthday of President Donald J. Trump, are in full-swing this week at Fort Cavazos in Killeen, Texas. As soldiers with the 1st Cavalry Division, III Armored Corps were seen loading 28 M1126 Strykers, 28 M2A3 “Bradley” Infantry Fighting Vehicles, 28 M1A2 SEPv3 “Abrams” Main Battle Tanks, and 7 M109A7 “Paladin” Self-Propelled Howitzers onto railcars at Fort Cavazos, bound for Washington. Next month’s parade in D.C. is expected to be the biggest and most expensive military parade in the nation’s capital city since the National Victory Celebration on June 8, 1991, which celebrated the conclusion of the Gulf War, with cost estimates for the parade placing it between $35-45 million according to officials at the Pentagon. The parade will also be the first to feature tracked-armored vehicles, like tanks, on the streets of Washington, D.C. in decades, with the Department of Defense pledging to place steel plates on roads while also equipping the vehicles with track-pads to prevent damage to roads and bridges along the parade route, one of the major concerns which was raised by city officials in both Washington and Arlington, Virginia.

I officially introduced Ihor Klymenko as the new Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Ihor proved his effectiveness through his work at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. He coordinated the work of our institutions extremely well. This was most evident last winter, when Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs directed all of its resources toward supporting people and communities. And it was always Ihor who had the most accurate information and delivered the fastest results. Now, this coordinating function must be strengthened to the fullest within Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council. Their C-130 Super Hercules, equipped with the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (MAFFS), demonstrates how they turn a C-130 into a powerful air tanker. They see a lot of action during California’s wildfire season! From the 146th Airlift Wing, these dedicated Guard members train hard and respond fast when called upon by CAL FIRE and the U.S. Forest Service. Whether it’s wildfire season or public demonstrations like this, they represent the very best of service and readiness. Huge thanks to the California Air National Guard!
