When Glenn McGrath, Mark Taylor and Michael Slater sit down and call Wasim Akram the best bowler they ever faced, you don’t argue. You just listen. Short run-up. No jump. Ball already at 145 from the first delivery. Late swing both ways with the new ball and the old... show more

When McGrath, Taylor and Slater all say the same thing, the debate is over. Short run-up, late swing both ways, 145 from ball one — that wasn’t just fast bowling. That was control at the highest level. Sultan of Swing. Still unmatched.

Easily the most complete pacer of all time. Wasim could bowl six different deliveries in an over. He was quick, could swing the ball both ways and had sharp bouncer and lethal yorker. Absolutely unparalleled!

Sachin doesn't get this much accolades from his contemporaries as wasim Akram does. But bowling is always harder plus wasim Akram was a very unique bowler maybe that's why.

Don’t think McGrath’s opinion has much weight in this debate.

And Waqar down the other end was just as good for a while

Most bowlers get wickets when the batsman attacks With Waseem, 90 percent of his wickets are when the batsman is simply trying to defend and play out his over. Just watch the video reels. His bowling really is a treat for the eyes. Batting and fielding too

He could execute all types of deliveries with ease

Genius Magician Most talented I would still have half a dozen fast bowlers ahead of him in terms of actual performance.

Maharaja of swing but at deadly deceptive deadly fast pace him Akram the great

I mean, The Left Hand of God, right?!? Enough said!

Hadlee and marshal for me the best two of all time

@tripperhead

Watch the Indians try and tell you Dev and Javigal were better bowlers than Wasim.

Greatest left arm fast bowler ever....

Weren't akram and younis tampering the ball with bottle caps ?

Wasim ki ye bhi ek khasiyat thi ....wo six delivery...six tarike se Daal sakta tha

He was also one of the best match fixer of his erra . Read justice qayum report.

I remember the setup for Rahul Dravid at 1999 chennai test. It was a masterclass of bowling.

Magician with the ball. With that short run up, to bowl at over 140 is something inexplicable. @wasimakramlive and that beautiful action to make the ball talk, sing, waltz and the batsman dance. What a champion bowler.

Even Lara said that Wasim was the best bowler. Those who have seen Wasim bowl at his peak, know that he is the most complete bowler ever and no-one comes close

When legends like McGrath, Taylor and Slater rate Wasim Akram above everyone else, it speaks volumes about his skill, mastery and greatness...
