When learning a new skill, your toddler needs the same things you do: Opportunity. Practice. And an environment in which it’s safe to fail - at least initially - as you work things out. It’s why I love this video, in which mom provides all three in abundance. Would... it be easier to feed the dog herself? Sure. But that’s not the path to independence. There’s an iconic line from the movie Up In The Air: “How much did they pay you to give up on your dreams? And when were you going to stop and do what makes you happy?” Look, we all have bills to pay. We do what we have to do to make ends meet and put food on the table. Providing is something to be proud of, but… Don’t sacrifice your dreams along the way. Don’t wake up at 50 (or 60) and realize you’re no closer to your best life than when you started. 👉 Treat your job as a means, not an end. Slowly—over years and decades—gain more control. Become the person you are on vacation. That’s the real you. Now you’ve got a life you don’t need to escape. (P.S. I’m not talking about living a life of leisure. Humans need work and skin in the game. The goal isn’t to retire—it’s to choose your work and do it on your terms. That’s as good as it gets.)

Elon Musk on the most important lesson he learned at PayPal “The initial thought with PayPal was to create an agglomeration of financial services. So you’d have one place where all of your financial services needs would be seamlessly integrated and work smoothly. And then we had a little feature for email payments. And whenever we’d show the system off to someone, we’d show the hard part — the agglomeration of financial services, which was quite difficult to put together. Nobody was interested. Then we’d show people email payments, which was actually quite easy, and everybody was interested.” Elon continues: “I think it’s important to take feedback from your environment. But you have no power over the circumstances. But there is one who does. When Jesus says, “Take courage,” that’s a different issue. There’s quite a remarkable use of the word here. It’s one word. “Take courage,” or cheer up, is one word: tharseite. One word in the Greek. It’s a verb form, and it’s in the imperative. It’s a command. Okay? Listen to this. Every time that word is used, and it’s used many times in the gospels and the New Testament – every time that word is used in the New Testament, it is in the imperative. It is a command. Cheer up. Take courage. Now, listen to this. Every time it is used in the New Testament, it is spoken by Jesus. No one else ever says that in the New Testament. That is a whole different issue. If the Lord Jesus, who is in control of absolutely everything, says, “Cheer up,” that’s different. That’s completely different. This is not just a well-intentioned pep talk. How long does a toddler hug last? As long as it needs to. When this little guy encountered his favorite character at Disney, he went in for the biggest and most heartfelt hug ever. When Mom suggests it might be time to give someone else a turn, it’s Winnie the Pooh himself who provides a non-verbal reminder that hugs end when a child’s needs are met. Suozzi: When something crazy is being proposed—something outlandish—we need to fight and resist. But when something addresses the concerns of the American people, we need to find common ground and get things done. This isn’t just about the election in 2026 or the election in 2028. It’s about right now. It’s about making people’s lives better now. A lot of people will say, “Well, the Republicans didn’t do that. They didn’t help Biden get things done. They didn’t work across party lines when they controlled the House.” And that’s true. It was the least productive Congress in modern history… But just because that’s what they did doesn’t mean that’s what we should do. It’s not just about winning. It’s about trying to move the country forward, solve problems, and make people’s lives better. This business isn’t worth it for the ego or just for the competition—“I’m right, you’re wrong; I win, you lose.” It’s only worth it if we’re actually making the world a better place to live in. We need to call out the Republicans when they do crazy stuff, when they’re extreme. But we also need to work with them when we can find ways forward to make our country a better place to live in.

It’s really hard when a team shoots 31 FTs and you shoot just 18. And in the 4th quarter in crunch time, in crunch time… you get a lot of no-calls and calls on the other end. It’s just things we have to deal with a couple games, and it’s starting to be consistent. That’s a little concerning. Overall, I’m just really proud of us.”
