Dangote Refinery is trending because, Aliko Dangote's refinery has started selling Petrol to the public. But, NNPC will be the exclusive buyers. - Monopoly achieved ? The Vice President of Dangote Refinery hinted that should any sabotage arise, and no one buys from them, they will not hesitate to export out of Nigeria, just how they export their diesel and jet fuel. This is was yesterday, when the refinery was yet to reach an agreement with NNPCL. But, now NNPC have reached an agreement with Dangote to supply him crude in Naira. And this month the refinery will supply them 25million litres of fuel, and 30million next month. The refinery is expected to produce 650k barrels per day. But NNPC failed to provide them enough crude oil, which resulted to the delay in commencement of their operation. NNPC being exclusive buyers means that, they will reach an agreement with Dangote prompting them to only purchase PMS from Dangote for an agreed period of time. And, understanding that NNPC is in serious international debt with no international supplier willing to supply them Petrol. - One can arguably say that Dangote has gotten what he wanted, and is on course to secure Oil Monopoly. Recall that in July NNPC accused Dangote of seeking oil monopoly with poor fuel quality. Which frustrated him to to opt out of building a steel plant and suggesting that Dangote Refinery was up for sale. This morning Aliko Dangote used the opportunity to show Nigerians that the real color of quality fuel is "colorless", like water. And he assured Nigerians that, this is what they will be getting from his refinery, unlike the bad product that has been circulating the country for nearly three decades. Assuring Nigerians that their vechicles will last longer, and the environment will be safer. Dangote refinery will be the first refinery to work in Nigeria since 1996. Yet, Nigerians are saying it's not enough. That to properly combat the now natural fuel shortage, FG should allow independent suppliers to give NNPC competition.

Q: Why is there always a discrepancy in the monthly fuel production data released by NMDPRA and that from the Dangote Refinery? Dangote: The regulator, Farouk, is very smart. What he is doing is only telling Nigerians what was being taken out of the refinery. What has been taken out of the refinery is totally different from what has been produced. When we got tired of all this misleading information, we wrote him a letter telling him to come every day to check our stock and publish what we produce and what we have in stock.

I just pity people wey dey take Hundeyin serious. Project delays happen all over the world and I don't know when it became a crime for a project to miss its projected delivery date due to unforeseen circumstances. David Hundeyin won't tell his audience that Dangote bought our refineries in 2007 only for Yaradua to reverse the sale. Dangote then decided to build his own from the scratch. Eventually he found a home in Lagos at the Lekki Free Trade Zone. The question any right thinking person needs to ask is this, if Dangote has no intention of refining crude oil, why expend close to $21 billion to build the largest single train refinery in the world with a deep sea terminal, 430mw power plant in an area over thrice the size of Victoria Island? If he wants to be selling crude oil like Hundeyin wants his zombies to believe, all he needs to do is to go and acquire an OML and set up an oil exploration company. If he wants to be importing refined fuel, by now he would have dethroned NNPCL as the biggest importer of refined petroleum products. He doesn't have to do a merry-go-round of building a refinery na. The lamentations of David Hundeyin simply makes no single sense but because his audience have auctioned their brains to him, they can't see it. He's simply bitter that the Dangote refinery they're told their minions was a scam is finally set to begin operations. Many bitter souls and enemy of progress simply needed a naysayer to cling unto to display their frustration over the good news that is the Dangote refinery. Long may their wailing and frustration last as Nigeria keeps rising!

NNPC is trending because Aliko Dangote has openly told them to STOP importing fuel. Today, after a meeting with Pres. Tinubu, Dangote hinted that fuel is scarce in some parts of Nigeria, but if marketers patronize him, the scarcity will disappear. Because they have half a billion litres of fuel just sitting idle at the factory. Dangote called on, NNPCL, marketers to stop importing. When his refinery is producing more than enough to supply the entire country. Dr. Aliko Dangote said the refinery can produce up to 30M litres daily, if only NNPC can supply him enough crude oil, and even if the country needs 55M per day, his refinery is up to the task. Adding that they have 500M litres in their tank waiting to be lifted. But marketers won't patronize them, and he can't do anything about the scarcity because he is not a retailer. That, he doesn't understand why they prefer to import and distribute products that he already has in excess at his factory, when they can just simply distribute from his factory. Nigerians are of two opinions; some believe he is not being transparent with NNPC and Nigerians, that's why they are not buying from him. While other analysts think it's all a conspiracy to force him out of business, and Malta has fingers in it. Ultimately, Nigerians don't think there is fuel scarcity. Instead, the inability of people to afford it. ICYMI: Dangote dragged NNPC and NMDPRA to court and slammed them ₦100bn in damages for permitting companies to import petrol into the country, when his refinery is producing more than required. Which therefore violates Sections 317(8) and (9) of the 2021 PIA. Which states that ; Section 317 (8) The Authority may apply the Backward Integration Policy in the downstream petroleum sector to encourage investment in local refining. (9) Pursuant to subsection (8), licence to import any product shortfalls may be assigned to companies with active local refining licences or proven track records of international crude oil and petroleum products trading. Simply meaning that, you can award import license to companies, only if the local ones are not producing up to the required capacity. However, the law said "may" not "shall". So it is debatable and not definite. The case was adjourned to January 20th, 2025. But Dangote Refinery has revealed that, the case will be settled out of court. This particular statement in this video clip is sensational, misleading, baseless and downright stupid to say the Nigerian govt wants to pull Dangote refinery down. I wish this anchor would juxtapose the facts on ground and our Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) of 2018 and he will appreciate the obligation the regulator has to ensure competition and no monopoly or market dominance. There may be a crisis of confidence in that industry, but the reason Dangote refinery is a success today is because of the support of this government
