When Roy Jones Jr. got washed, he got REALLY washed. Sandwiched between knockout losses to Danny Green and Denis Lebedev was this points defeat to former victim Bernard Hopkins OTD in 2010 in Las Vegas. Scores: 118-109 and 117-110 (twice). VC: Jeff Jackson

I've never seen a top fighter's career changed so drastically by one punch as Roy's was by that wicked left Tarver starched him with in their second fight.

I loved Roy so much, these are hard to watch. What a fighter he was in his prime

Roy may have never had a great chin but once he went up to heavyweight quickly, then cut back down his body started to fall apart

I hated seeing a diminished Roy.

One of the most pathetic fights I've ever seen. Two fighters going through the motions, likely having agreed beforehand not to hurt each other, but do enough to put on a show and make it look competitive.

RJJ was figthing since the television still broadcast in 240p, so if you see his fights in HD, he's way past his prime and only fought for passion 👏

It seems once those unique abilities left, he had nothing left. I think about Ali. He lost his legs and that innate ability to slip punches, but he was still able to be effective late in his career.

Hopkins fight was sad. I don't think he made any money either. Revenue had to go over a certain amount for Roy to get his cut.

My favorite fighter ever. I couldn’t stand this shit, I hate his warrior mentality carried him for so long. Should’ve hung em up a lot sooner.

He never kept his guard up. Even in his prime . Once his speed was gone he was easier to hit.

Hard to watch him take a pounding to a corner bucket holder like Tarver... should have walked after Ruiz

Rematch should have happened around 2001.

And before the Green fight, some were saying Roy was back cause he dominated Jeff Lacy lol

Sad to see his decline during that period. Prime RJJ was unreal!!

If only he called it after beating Ruiz- arguably would’ve been greatest of all time
