These workers at this Mexican restaurant in downtown LA deserve a massive THANK YOU for helping our deputies recover from injuries in the riots downtown. These are likely hard working legal immigrants. These are the people we appreciate and want to... show more

Okay … I had the info about the restaurant and I shared it. But after some push back I took it down bc of course I want them to be celebrated not targeted. I just deleted. But now taking a poll - should I repost the restaurant info now that we have it so people can leave nice reviews and show appreciation? Or does it put them at risk? (This was what I just deleted - but with the blanks filled in) “I found the restaurant! It’s ____ in ___, a ___ spot on ___ Blvd. In the chaos, they showed real compassion by helping our officers who were under attack. Let’s thank them for stepping up when it mattered 🇺🇸👮♂️ Leave them a 5-star review on Yelp and let them know we appreciate their kindness: 👉 yelp (link)”

Republishing the name of the restaurant even before the poll is over because I just spoke with the owner! It is not Mexican but a SALVADORAN 🇸🇻spot on Alondra Blvd. named La Cieba. The restaurant owner Elizabeth Mendoza who moved here from El Salvador and loves her culture and being an American citizen. She has been established here legally for many years. She is happy to let people know and come eat at her restaurant which she calls “a humble little hole in the wall that welcomes everyone.” She says they love their police officers and the police love them. “I give them a lot of food because I know they need my help. It is so dangerous for them. They are friends and they always say thank you. So many people said thank you today!” I asked if she felt it was safe to share, if she felt the protestors would supportive or if they could target her. She said “No, it is okay! The protestors were also very kind to me. I gave them water and was kind to them as well.” She shared a video (a bit blurry) but it is of her giving police food outside too. In the chaos, they showed real compassion by helping our officers who were under attack and creating a safe space for everyone. Let’s thank them for stepping up when it mattered 🇺🇸👮♂️ Leave this wonderful restaurant a 5-star review on Yelp, stop by and eat, and let them know we appreciate their kindness: 👉

If they are illegal, they deserve instant Citizenship. Content of character is muy importante. They might get targeted for HELPING these guys, who knows with deranged lunatics!

Good point. They’re solid. Strong character. You could see they put emergency needs ahead of getting bullied by the thugs outside.

Salvadoran Restaurant, we do not support lawlessness

And the best food ❤️

Groups of people shouldn't be stereotyped as there's good people and this is proof.

The U.S. welcomes legal immigrants with open arms 💙

It's such a shame because the Mexican people are just wonderful hard-working God-fearing people. This is an absolute shame. The Biden Administration let this happen and now an entire race is having to pay the price for the criminal acts of both Biden and those that came across the border
