While making GLADIATOR (2000), Joaquin Phoenix was l told that Ridley Scott thought he looked “too fat” for Commodus. Phoenix confronted: “I hear I look like a little fat hamster, but I’m the Emperor of Rome. Why shouldn’t I look a little debauched?”

For Gladiator (2000), Joaquin Phoenix refused to work out while the rest of the crew trained hard. When Ridley Scott heard a producer call him “fat,” Phoenix argued saying, Commodus should look like a “little fat hamster” — powerful by status, not strength.

Joaquin Phoenix refused to work out for Gladiator (2000). While the cast pumped iron, he chose to remain soft. He wanted Commodus to look like a pampered royal whose power came entirely from status, not physical strength.

Napoleon turned out to be one of the more disappointing films of the decade. I expected so much from this film - including from Joaquin Phoenix, who finally reunited with Ridley Scott after Gladiator. But this movie didn’t come anywhere near its full potential for a few reasons.

Unreleased deleted scene from GLADIATOR shows Joaquin Phoenix as Commodus at his most terrifying. Absolutely chilling.

And now I’m here in Shad Thames. Thought you’d like a little look round. One of my favourite parts of London and I even give you a little look at Tower Bridge. I do spoil you lot.

PERSONAL?? 😂 He shouldn’t have even gotten flagged for that hit. Look I get it, you gotta look for any little thing, especially in the playoffs but 🙄…laughable. Should have taken that L personal 😂 I can’t wait for Saturday night. I need Ben Johnson on this kinda timing.

Hasan reacts to the clip I posted last night of the iconic ice tub scene from the stream with JasonTheWeen and he admits that he thought he was fat at the time: "Bro, you guys don't understand. I was in peak, physical tiptop shape and in my mind I was like, 'I'm obese.' This was a huge deal for me. I thought I was morbidly obese here, like, this was a moment of great courage for me." He looked incredible imo.
