Attack on civilian houses at Torbung Bangla started by 3 PM. Here is a video of the mob gathering, all in black.

In response to the state government's drive against illegal encroachment of reserved and protected forest areas in the hills of Manipur as well as the clampdown on poppy cultivation in these hills, on 3 May 2023, Kukis (who have captured the hill regions of Manipur) began setting Meitei homes on fire in Churachandpur district. The year ends on a heartwarming note for us at TN Forest Department, as our Foresters united a lost baby elephant with her mother and the herd after rescue in the Anamalai Tiger Reserve at Pollachi. The little calf was found searching for the mother when field teams spotted her. With the help of drones & experienced forest watchers the herd was located and the tiny calf was safely reunited. Teams are still on ground for monitoring. Kudos to Ramasubramanian, CF, Bhargava Teja FD, Range officer Manikantan and the entire team 👍 videos FD TN DIPR Tamil Nadu Forest Department MoEF&CC #elephantcalf

I was shocked to see this video that is spreading quickly on social media. This is the reserved forest of Khalanga in #Dehradun and the video is courtesy Ms Deepshikha Rawat Verma. The person in the white T shirt says that he is a contractor and Ashok Agarwal of Rishikesh is the owner of 40 bighas in this reserved forest. When you see the video, you will notice a very prominent gate that has been put in the reserved forest. For information, I have spoken to the Head of Forest Force, Govt of Uttarakhand this evening and requested that their department look into this. I hope that we get to know quickly what's really going on in this case. If I hear something crucial, I will surely share with you!

A team of forest officials raided a farmhouse in Mangala village, located on the fringes of Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Chamarajanagar and recovered a deer head, antlers, pelt and a licensed gun. Acting on a tip-off from a farmer leader in Mangala village, a team of forest officials from the Gopalaswamy Betta Range of the Bandipur Tiger Reserve arrived at the farm house and conducted a thorough inspection, during which the deer head, pelt,antlers and guns were found. The forest officials immediately seized the items including guns and knifes. They are also investigating whether the gun was used for illegal activities or hunting. A baby monkey in Kerala got a second chance at life, thanks to the quick thinking of a forest officer. Near the Golden Valley checkpost in Thiruvananthapuram, a playful tussle among monkeys turned dangerous when a baby accidentally touched a live wire. Within seconds, it collapsed, leaving it unconscious from the electric shock. On duty nearby, Arun PR, a beat forest officer stationed at Ponmudi, spotted the fallen monkey and rushed to help. Without wasting a moment, he picked up the fragile body and started performing CPR, right there in the middle of the forest. Minutes later, the effort paid off. The baby monkey slowly regained consciousness. Once stable, it was carefully taken back to its mother, who embraced it before leading it safely back into the forest.
