Why didn't the Fold 8 support flex mode in the software?

I think the reason is simply because it doesn't make sense to even use a passport size phone like that. The result is a tiny screen. Get a case/stand and use the inner screen to its fullest for media by propping it up Flex mode is fine for slate size folds because you essentially get a screen size roughly the size of a regular phone in that mode.

There is other reasons to support flex mode software other than content consumption though. Cameras is my favourite one

No, sir. You do not need flex mode for that at all. The Fold can still be pitched open and a photo taken. I do it all the time and don't even think about flex mode. Come on. Samsung has had Flex Mode on their Folds since 2020. They wouldn't leave it out if they thought it was useful.

I use it on Fold 8 too. But it would be nice to have the software adjust is all I'm saying

Samsung designed the hinge to not have multiple tilt angles like the flip so they didn't code that into One UI

Samsung worked it out and did it better. Nobody needs their phone imbalanced like that, that angle is just useless

Because Samsung is lazy and ridiculous. They didn't add the hardware to be rude knowing they were going to get called out on it, so they didn't add the software either.

You want flex mode? Get the Fold8 Ultra, they had to sacrifice it on normal fold 8 tp justify the Ultra, Ultra will always got that extra feature, or buy the flip 8 cheaper than both and still got flex mode

I suspect Samsung rushed this to spoil the Duo party, and, of course, they didn't invest enough time and effort in things like a vapour chamber or flex mode. Expect the Fold 9 to resolve these issues because they'll have a year to develop them.

Honestly though why is flex mode so important I've had several folding phones samsung and the pixel and I've never used it more important why is the Duo screen failing from simple use

It really isn’t the same because the iPhone supports those dynamic angles in any orientation or form, It can also be pushed significantly forward to barely be open, or used as a standing up book.

Flex mode doesnt even make sense for this form factor , thats why zfold 8 doesnt have it like the ultra

Now try this: rotate the duo so that the cameras are on the bottom half. Use the bottom half as the base with the non-camera part acting as the top display. Tilt it back. Does the duo still fall over?
