You should wait 3 months before applying any sealant or paint to treated lumber. It won't stick. And that foam crap is junk. We've tried it. Post never stays firm in the ground

That solid a construction for a mailbox goes against USPS recommendations and will not be allowed in many communities. Prepare, if your area has snow, for that front portion to be taken out by the county road crew as it is on the frontage.

Do it like my dad did ours after it got hit a couple times. Dig a four-foot hole, stick a steel I-beam in it, paint the I-beam orange, fill it with concrete, mount the mailbox on top. Next time somebody drunk came along and hit our mailbox, they totaled their car.

No one in America uses expanding foam to throw a mailbox post in the ground. That’s som TikTok shit. We use concrete and dirt.

Don't use foam to set posts. Use gravel (or small aggregate) and tamp it down in stages while plumbing the post at each stage. This creates some drainage around the post and is very sturdy. You can also move the post later if you need to with a bit of effort.

Possibly because this new installation may not meet postal and safety regulations. Although it looks nice, it does not "break away" as easily if struck by a car and also produces more debris mass to injure others if struck by a car. Check local laws before building. 🙂
