Why I strongly support Donald J. Trump recent executive order that will dismantle the Housing First model. (EO 14321) For one Housing first has been a spectacular failure because it does not address the underlining issues that either led a person to the streets or kept them on

the streets. It was though a multi billion dollar boon to the Homeless Industrial Complex. Those funds will get reallocated towards recovery. Considering that 90% of the homeless population is actively using drug, this will end up saving thousands

of lives. Despite this most elected progressives have a problem with this because they refuse to accept that President Trump will be responsible for one of the most proactive life-saving executive orders ever. @karolineleavitt @choeshow

@realDonaldTrump My mother was an alcoholic. I had to rethink what love was. What it isn’t is allowing the behavior to continue. In some cases they need to be taken off the streets. Treatment is the answer.

@realDonaldTrump absolutely recovery programs need to be first. that said - i know people who are by legit definition homeless - living with family or friends because they cannot afford the cost of housing. so that piece absolutely needs to be remedied.

@realDonaldTrump It does work very well when implemented properly. The problem isn't these programs, it the ability for providers to just take money without any efforts on results. Lloyd Pendleton proves it can work when effort is applied. He also got rid of all the old caseworkers to start new.

I had not heard this. I’m concerned that if the states take responsibility for supposedly making this happen, Oregon will ‘lose’ the money because they’ll have the fraudulent NGO’s take care of the program. We have spent billions of dollars to help these very needy people, and not one recovery program has been opened.

@realDonaldTrump These people need to be taken care of in a warm safe environment with medical help. As for the ones who are benefiting off others suffering, I hope they are sweating because justice is getting closer and closer. They know who they are.
