I am all for bike lanes. When and where necessary. But in New Orleans, eliminating a lane for vehicular traffic to make it a bike lane when there’s no cyclists is crazy. Like Baronne Street downtown or Gentilly Boulevard, Marconi has this ridiculous set up where a lane of traffic is lost to a bike lane with no cyclists.

This seems to be new feature added to the Robotaxi software. Quick reverse after creeping too far forward while cross traffic cars are still approaching. A couple of initial observations: it didn’t look like it was blocking a lane when it decided to reverse. The second time it creeped again and stopped abruptly it looked like it was in the lane but it didn’t reverse. The passengers commented that it felt indecisive.

This woman is using a bike lane as a walking lane as well. There is a car behind her trying to beat the traffic and driving in that lane. They are driving slowly behind her yelling at her to get out of the way and antagonizing her. She starts to record them because they are being reckless and have come close to hitting her and other cars. The car even cuts off the other cars as the lane is being blocked by a pole. I understand she’s mad because the car was where they weren’t supposed to be, however the bike lane is a bi-directional bike lane, it isn’t a bike lane on one side and a walking lane on the other. So who is wrong here, are they both wrong for using the bike lane when neither one is on a bike?

This guy is using the left hand lane , which is open. There is a mile long backup and everyone is over in the right hand lane. He drives all the way up until he has to merge. Some people are saying what a jerk he is for not getting in line like everyone else, but a great many people are saying that the cars in the right lane merged into one lane too soon and that if they had used the left lane, instead of being a mile backup it would have been a half a mile backup. What’s your take? Do you think he was correct in using the left lane and merging up at the front or should he have merged right and got in line way in the back like everyone else?

It was such a happy day going over the border yesterday - but it nearly ended in disaster. Lady B was in the cycle lane, waving to fellow cyclists, just as a woman in a red car dangerously overtook a lorry, nearly hitting her, & causing the support car to swerve. Then, as we get closer, the bus starts pulling out, and FSD quickly anticipates that it will encroach into our lane, so it safely brakes to let it in. Smooth operator.
