The last time Ferguson held a mega presser, he surrounded himself with Democrats from across the state. They blamed Trump for pretty much every failure in WA even though it's been one party rule for 40 years. Expect more of that today. The Democrats are trying to sway public perception by celebrating their "wins" in Democratic strongholds. In reality: -They had two Democrats running against each other in NYC, and the crazier one won. -They had two Democrats running against each other in Minneapolis, and the crazier one almost won. -They elected an AG of VA who wishes death on his political opponents. -They elected a woman who spends more time advocating for transgenders (men in women's spaces) than doing anything to keep women safe. The Democrats went farther left. Any rational, sane person is going to look at these elections with fear about who the Democrats have become. This is not the win they think it is.

This controversial homeless housing bill strips away safeguards protecting communities from crime, chaos, and death that always follows "permanent supportive housing" units like the ones run by Plymouth Housing and the Downtown Emergency Service Center(DESC.) The government can now ram through these apartments and shelters for drug addicts and neighbors can't do anything about it. We knew the Democrats would vote for this insane bill. But I could not believe the Republicans were totally caught with their pants down and failed to understand what was at stake. All the GOP arguments against HB 2266 centered on the dangers of state overreach. They should have focused on the drug dealers living in these apartments or the fact more people now die of drug overdoses behind closed doors than on the streets. Let's also not forget about the inordinate amount of 911 calls these Housing First drug dens trigger in the community. The reality is, Republican lawmakers do not live in Seattle and King County. They can't win seats in these far-left progressive bastions. Point is, many of these conservative elected officials living in smaller cities have never seen these devastating effects first hand. Cheesman said the clashes were caused by a small but violent group among the crowd. “There were probably 800 to 1,000 people on each side today. The truth is, there’s probably 40 to 50 hardcore protesters who were trying to harm the police. A mass shooting left two people dead and at least five wounded, including a toddler, Sunday evening at Seattle Center. A barrage of gunshots rang out around 6 p.m. at Seattle Center, which was hosting thousands of people for the Bite of Seattle food festival this weekend. Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with bursts of gunfire and masses of people running and taking cover, all over the 74-acre park complex. Any apparent motive remained unclear Sunday night. A Seattle Times reporter who was on the south side of Climate Pledge Arena heard several loud pops and then what sounded like very rapid gunfire. Estan Wakonabo, 25, said he was at Bite of Seattle with his girlfriend when he heard gunshots. The event was so packed to begin with that they could barely move between the crowded lines for food. He said people began to trample each other as he and his girlfriend stayed put. “It was just pure chaos,” he said. He said he came back to the scene later to take photos, and saw several gunshot victims on the ground, including a body covered with a yellow sheet. A Seattle Police Department spokesperson, reached by phone, said he was on his way to the incident and had no further information.

Yesterday's vote on the amendment to repeal the electric bus mandate made one thing clear: Senate Democrats are more interested in defending an ideological mandate than listening to school districts dealing with its consequences. My amendment would have repealed the electric school bus mandate and replaced it with a pilot study to see how and where these buses work – or don’t work. Instead, the Majority left schools on the hook for a mandate they know is broken. Our obligation as elected officials is not to protect a political agenda. It is to protect students, taxpayers, and schools. Yesterday, Senate Democrats chose the agenda.
