On slower PCs, this should matter even more because Windows briefly pushes the CPU harder during shell interactions, then lets it drop back to idle. Here's a closer look at CPU usage in Windows 11 with Low Latency mode turned on. Do you see the spike? This happens when you launch the Start menu and other OS level flyouts. It doesn't make Windows slower because it spikes for a second or two, and allows the Start menu + Quick settings + Notifications Center + context menu, etc., to load faster

Disabling the window animations makes it even better. Although windows 11's animations are very nice and smooth.

And how do you test the Low Latency Profile? By simply updating Windows, or do you need to activate a separate option as well?

It's turned on by default when it's rolled out to your device. There's no toggle, as it's the default behavior. To verify, monitor before and after performance. Another way is to watch Task Manager. You'll notice a brief spike in CPU usage (Task Manager) when you launch the Start menu, Notifications Center, etc. That confirms the Low Latency Profile is working. Hope that helps 😊

Let me not be mistaken🧐. My issue is not that Windows is trying to improve UI speed. The issue I have is that we have bigger problems to solve, like programs based on Electron and WebView2, which are terrible. Fixing the speed of the UI is not going to help those issues. There is no point in having a fast interface when WhatsApp runs like trash.😑

idk, if ppll keep using this as an excuse, they shouldn't expect any improvements going forward. Everything will turn into unbelievable slop that only runs properly on insanely powerful hardware. In Windows XP days, less than 512 MB of RAM was enough and everything ran flawlessly

Hi Windows Latest, I enabled ViVeTool IDs 60716524 and 61391826, and after reboot both show State: Enabled, Type: Override. Your article recommends enabling ID 58989092. Do I still need to enable 58989092 as well for Low Latency Profile to work properly, or are 60716524 and 61391826 enough? Is 58989092 a rollout/bundle switch rather than the actual Low Latency Profile feature ID? Thanks!

Win11 update is good UI is very responsive. Except for the right click menu still lags. Whoever coded that should be fired and never allowed to write code again.

Stupid cunts, Linux & Mac OS aren't web based UIs. Even though they use similar tricks, CPU usage doesn't go to at least 50% 🤣 , those OSes are much better optimized than this multi trillion dollar failure.

They will never want to optimize their OS when they have already set certain specifications as the lowest specifications to run Windows 11. In their mind, many have already updated their devices, so why do they need to optimize further?
