The first Airbus A330 landed on Wolf's Fang Runway in Antarctica operated by Hi Fly this week. It’s a private runway that is 9,840 feet long. It’s constructed on the glacial blue ice and referred to as a “Blue Ice Runway”. They have a private GPS approach to the runway but it can only be flown in rather good conditions as a non-precision approach. 📷 Hi Fly

DEADLINE: And I feel like anytime there’s a big queer project like this, it seems inevitable that people are going to be speculating about your sexuality. Or just accusing you of gay baiting. How does it feel having to separate your personal from the professional? STORRIE: I think there’s so much energy that is coming at us with the rise of this show, and for me, at least, I think it’s important for me to have a little bit of separation from the character in the show. All I can really say is that I love Ilya, I love the community that this is a part of and that this caters to. I think that’s so much more interesting and valuable than doing just another run-of-the-mill, straight story. Who I date, who I sleep with, who this, that, whatever, I’m gonna keep that to myself. But regardless, I think this is super important, and I think also on top of that, it’s just really cool. 🔗 Read more here:

✨ I've been using #Unity3D for 12 years. ✨ I'm using Blender's GeoNodes for a procedural mesh that's realtime-animated with a custom shader in Unity. ---(reminiscing, reflection follows)-- At some point, you realize it's 'all' states, relationships, and data/information. What is, isn't, and how they relate, subject to laws, principles. 🌌 Define some latent space -> atomics, data -> simulation/form -> information. Like a grid-texture of pixels that are to mean something, represent something. And they are processed/simulated in some way by some measure. So that you get some transformed, meaningful result. What is possible, here? -- in that space. (by the parameters, and features *defined*). 🧊 Likewise, a 3D field-volume in which things exist, being and not being. It may sound mystical, but I mean it literally: the definition of what things are, and are not, and what that means as a relationship (to something[s]). Take, for example a sphere, or box collider primitive. 🪩 Sphere's and circles are the most simple colliders, involving only a point (where they are) and radius (distance from that point, as a center) to define. 💥 The equations to calculate collisions against and between spheres is also relatively straightforward. Implementation of that is a part of building primitive relationships and definitions for simulations. 🎇 It follows, that for a particle system, the data structure of a single element/particle is (about) some point that simulates in some way. I strongly recommend that everyone interested in the current state of Australia and its place in the world watch the full #Insiders interview. Hastie is just about spot on across the board. It is clear he understands the problems, and cares about us enough to want to solve them. Really solve them. I have grabbed a particularly interesting clip, where the ABC public servant David Speers tries to sell Chinese made batteries as some kind of ‘gotcha’, but Hastie just nails him. Batteries made in China will never fix our energy problems. Drilling, mining and using our resources here will. Rebuilding our infrastructure here will. And fixing the diabolical 1970's style industrial relations system will. We just have to get off our arses and get out of our own way before it's too late. Go Hastie. Get 'em. I just want Australia back.
