With a massive hurricane brewing out in the Atlantic, the surf is getting fierce in Florida and hungry Osprey are risking life and wing just to catch a meal. If you have never been “trapped” inside a large frothy ocean wave, it’s scary as hell.

Great video. I kept hoping it had kept hold of a fish throughout all that (in addition to surviving). That bird needs a nice meal and a rest!

Osprey vs Fish: One of the Wildest Struggles I’ve Ever Filmed When Osprey fish the mighty Atlantic Ocean, they have such a plentiful bounty of fish to choose from. It’s an all you can eat or all you can wrangle from the surf buffet where nothing is off limits and this bird has managed to lock on to a massive fish. What followed was one of the most intense struggles I’ve ever witnessed: a battle not just of strength, but of worlds. Air versus sea. Talons versus scales. Predator and prey, both powered by the same undeniable force, survival. There is such a delicate balance happening here and every millisecond counts. Right in the heaving heart of the slashing surf, between one wave and the next, the Osprey holds steady. Its talons have found their mark. It hangs on with everything it’s got. Driven by hunger, refined by millions of years of evolution. And below, the ladyfish fights with equal fury. She is queen of her world, and she’s not surrendering her crown without a fight. 🚨#BREAKING MAJOR HURRICANE expected to FORM in the ATLANTIC over the next week or so! 🤯 Its been a semi SLOW start to the season but IF these models stay true we WILL be seeing Hurricanes in NO TIME! Anything after 5 days is a coin flip but THIS is significant! We have not had a SINGLE Hurricane yet this year and again IF these models stay as is we may see our first Hurricane this year as a "MAJOR Hurricane!" This particular model has PLENTY of time to change. The point here is to show how the ocean temps and conditions that are now changing and supporting the formation to tropical cyclones! HAVE A PLAN BEFORE ITS TO LATE!

JUST IN: Hurricane Humberto has been upgraded to a 145 MPH Category 4 Hurricane, achieving one of the most explosive intensification rates ever observed for a storm in the open Atlantic Ocean. He was a Tropical Storm just 24 hours ago and is now forecast to reach CATEGORY 5 status. This is the first time in 90 years that the first three Hurricanes of the season have all attained Category 4+ strength.

JUST IN: Beachfront home falls into the Atlantic Ocean on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. The incident was thanks to Hurricane Ernesto which is off the coast in the Atlantic. The unfortunate owners purchased the 4 bed, 2 bath home in 2018 for $339,000. The home was built in 1973. "Large breaking waves, life-threatening rip currents, beach erosion, and ocean overwash are all possible," said Cape Hatteras officials in a news release. No one was in the home during the time of the incident.

Hawaii just cannot get a break this season. Hurricane Lowell is a Category 3 with about 115 mph winds, a Hurricane Warning is up for Kauai and Niihau, and the center is forecast to pass just west of them late Monday into Tuesday. This is already the third storm in just over three weeks. Flash flooding, mudslides, life-threatening surf, and possible tornadoes are all on the table.

Riptides can roll in at any given moment. When two waves cross like that on the beach, never go in or near the water. Lifeguards are incredibly brave people, risking their lives for minimal pay. An old saying in Hawaii- “Do not turn your back to the Ocean.” A large wave can come without warning knocking people off their feet and sweeping them away into the ocean. 😳 The ocean is not to be messed with. 💯💯
