@soubhik_deb No onchain voting is a huge unlock if it holds up. The “epoch participation fee” idea makes sense as a sybil tax + to keep validator economics from whiplashing. Curious what the new failure modes look like (liveness under churn, fee market dynamics once vote txs disappear).

Therefore, the incentive is for contractors to “never finish,” resulting in incredible waste. As an example, IRS modernization started in 1990 to be delivered in 1996. Today, the work is not complete and the contractors say it’s still 5 years away. 29 years behind schedule and ~$15b over budget. Everyone loses, except the government contractors. This must change. This week, the IRS froze ~$1.5B in modernization contracts, none of which have any effect on tax filings. All of those contracts will then either be cancelled or the contract terms will be changed to pay-for-performance.

The Tbilisi City Hall said that the validators are temporarily disabled. Until the system is repaired, transportation will be free of charge.

In the decentralised world of the XRP Ledger, there isn’t a single entity or authority dictating the rules or making unilateral decisions. Instead, the ledger relies on a process involving a select group, known as the Unique Node List (UNL) validators, to navigate its course, particularly when making changes or updates, known as "amendments". Amendments for the XRPL are proposed alterations to functionality and can encompass various aspects, such as introducing new features, enhancing existing functionalities, or rectifying issues. While the network is open to everyone, the 35 UNL validators hold the voting power to decide whether these proposed amendments get a green light. The network independently tallies these votes and determines if an amendment has garnered enough "yes" votes to be instituted as a new rule. If an amendment secures a "yes" from enough nodes for a continuous two-week period, it becomes activated, making the introduced change or feature available. The threshold is 80% of all eligible nodes. An intriguing aspect of this process lies in the evolution of rippled itself. In earlier software versions, servers would automatically vote "yes" to any amendments they understood unless configured otherwise by their operators. However, in more recent versions, such as 1.9.2 and newer, the default to voting was changed to "no" for new features, except for changes to fix bugs. Regardless of whether the default vote is "yes" or "no", it’s imperative for the operators, those who manage the servers, to assess the impact of amendments diligently. They ought to decide their vote based on their best judgement and the criteria they deem significant. we achieved some progress in the implementation of state inference inside octra , first we managed to implement continuous reasoning without clearing the circle memory, second we completed a pure resource model under which validators can verify and certify the execution flow of a set of useful work (in this case this is ML inference with text generation by input tokens fully onchain), a few months ago the answers of the test model were one-word and substantially limited, in the current version (which will be available for everyone) the reasoning flow is automatically extended, it will be possible to upload various models into circles or create tools for their use making them public or only private (full demo will be opensource as soon as we finish, it will be possible to deploy anything in 2-3 clicks) live use case, the economic model also converges here - wallet pays for inference in native coins, validators (with GPU support can maintain availability of their resources to quickly process such private calls, while the execution core remains private through HFHE)

A conversation is needed to be had about these so-called 'auditors'. The vast majority of the time they are nothing but agitators & get in the way of people working in public - they also give no privacy to those being dealt with, an example below of when the officer is requiring personal details. I hope to see some form of legislation in the future to combat the rise in these people who have nothing better to do & are there to interfere. We already have offences of obstructing police in the execution of their duties, however, these offences are not set for 2026. I would like to see an updated offence. People like this person below filming the officer have absolutely no need to be involved here, he is an agitator.
