I love the Xbox brand (or what it used to be at least) but Sony shouldn’t do anything but worry about being the best version of Sony they can. That’s it They just need to improve what they do, offer more variety of gaming content, & make the ps6 an affordable monster

Sony’s biggest competitor is Nintendo, that’s who they need to focus on. PC is not a competitor really since they released on their anyways. Nintendo is the Goliath they gotta worry about

Basically predicting the death of console gaming with that one. One platform’s dominance spells doom for consumer friendly pricing on hardware. I do think as much as I love both platforms, this next gen is make it or break it for Xbox.

They need to focus on having people stay on their console rather than PC and Nintendo. Stop releasing on PC and cut down budgets for all but a few games so your ample amounts of studios can put stuff out every 3 years or so like Astrobot scale. Also get porting stuff that isn't available on modern consoles. Many games languishing on PS3 that could bolster your exclusive library

Colin I like your stuff but your takes about Xbox Cry Sony schill. Microsoft has done a good job and sometimes a not so good job but either way have earned their place in console gaming and for now looks like they’re here to stay. Sony on the other hand have brand recognition and with that has also come some not so friendly consumer behavior like launching the PS3 and 600 bucks and forcing their customers to pay for subscription services to play old games that most serious gamers have lying around somewhere. I can go on but I’m sure you already know all this stuff.

If PlayStation didn't care, they wouldn't be locking down exclusives deal that target Xbox specifically. If PS didn't care, Horizon would be on the Xbox and switch

NHK aired a dramatized documentary on the creation of PlayStation! Father of PlayStation, Ken Kutaragi, went to Nintendo and made a deal to create a sound chip for the SNES that allowed for 8 sound channels instead of 3. After that they began to collaborate on a CD based add-on. But just as Sony were about to announce the partnership, Nintendo backed out at the last minute to go with Philips instead. Ken Kutaragi was shocked and furious. He said 99.9% of people in Sony wondered why Sony are trying to make games and tarnish the brand. However, in the following management meeting Ken Kutaragi stood up in front of then Sony CEO Norio Ohga and said “is our company the type to give up like this?” He proposed his plan to use Sony’s latest technology to create their own game console. Sony CEO Ohga responded “Then give it a try. Do it!” And the Sony PlayStation was born!
