Motorists are being urged to remain alert at petrol filling stations following more reports of theft. In this incident a few weeks ago, a cellphone was stolen. The victim said the phone was stolen while it was placed on the lap and “not even visible to the eye”, suggesting the suspects may have been closely monitoring the victim before striking. Safety tips for motorists at petrol stations: • Keep phones, wallets and handbags out of sight at all times. • Avoid placing valuables on your lap, passenger seat or dashboard. • Lock your doors when attendants are not assisting you. • Stay aware of people approaching your vehicle unnecessarily. • Be cautious of distractions, as suspects often work in groups. • If using your phone for payments or directions, put it away immediately afterwards. • Report suspicious behaviour to petrol station management and SAPS. • Where possible, use filling stations with visible security presence and CCTV monitoring. Luckily, a guy on an e-bike spotted them, recognized their shoes, and started trailing them. He ended up shouting and warning everyone on the street, completely blowing their cover and ruining their plans. This is a shocking reminder of why you can never let your guard down, even when dealing with retail employees at a major service provider. ​In a disturbing breach of trust, a Metro by T-Mobile store associate took advantage of a customer who was simply trying to upgrade a phone. While pretending to assist with the device and transfer data, the worker took the customer’s unlocked phone and secretly opened their Cash App. ​The employee successfully transferred $400 directly to her own account. Greedy for more, she immediately tried to drain another $500. Fortunately, the bank flagged the second back-to-back transaction as highly suspicious and denied the transfer, stopping the theft from escalating. Police were called to the scene, and bodycam footage captured the investigation that ultimately exposed the employee’s pattern of predatory behavior. ​This incident serves as a massive wake-up call for everyone. Your phone is your digital wallet, and handing it over to anyone—even a retail worker in uniform—comes with severe risks. ​To protect your money and your identity, always follow these critical security steps: ​1. Gotcha Boulder Police have taken three reports recently of a man looking into a woman’s apartment and taking photos. This past Thursday night would be different. Officers Myers and Diaz were ready. After waiting in the dark nearby, just before 10 p.m., they saw him. Moments later they took him into custody. He was then booked into the jail on charges of criminal invasion of privacy and third degree trespass. If you think you might be a victim of such a crime, please report it by calling Dispatch at 303-441-3333. Sadly this is not the first suspect we’ve arrested for such crimes and he won’t be the last, which is why we share these important safety reminders: keep your blinds and windows closed at night—especially if you live on the first floor or a below-ground floor apartment—and always lock your doors and windows. Doing this and being aware of your surroundings goes a long way. We want everyone to feel safe in our community, which is why it’s important we all work together.

The Islamic persecution of Christians in Nigeria has reached the level of genocide! Every year thousands of Christians including women and children are displaced or murdered if they refuse to convert to Islam. Sadly, no one in the international community seems to care. The media and the UN are silent about this to prevent damage to the image of Islam as a "religion of peace" in the west. Just like this video, there are countless reports regarding the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. Please don’t look away when you see them. We must speak up and rise our voices for the voiceless victims of Islamic persecution all over the world! By raising awareness we can force world leaders to take action and protect the persecuted non-Muslim minorities in Asia and Africa. “This Sunday at 6:13 a.m., our small independent cell phone shop in Edmonton was broken into and completely wiped out. The thief pulled the door out of its frame, got inside, and cleared the place in under 3 minutes. Every phone was taken. Twenty-seven years of work gone in minutes. It’s devastating in these hard times just to stay afloat. This business supports two families with children, and now we don’t know if we’ll be able to operate again. What hurts most isn’t just the loss, it’s knowing how fast and organized this was. This wasn’t random. They knew exactly what they were doing and how little time they had. We’re temporarily closed while dealing with police reports, insurance, and repairs. If you own a small retail business, especially electronics, please take security seriously. Setting the Record Straight: There has been some misinformation circulating about our work last night at the Impala Grounds during the Floodies event. I want to clarify that no one was 'chased away.' My team and I operate with professionalism and a commitment to protecting public welfare, focusing on restoring order in the city and ensuring events comply with regulations for the safety and comfort of everyone involved. Since early in the morning, from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m., residents near the event reported intense noise pollution, with vibrations from the event even felt within their homes. Managing noise issues is not about shutting down events but about ensuring they operate within the law and respect the surrounding community. For such situations, we must act swiftly especially when managing large gatherings where tensions could escalate both to ensure safety and to protect the wellbeing of attendees and residents alike. As part of our enforcement efforts, we confiscated the DJ mixer and other equipment as evidence, to be presented in court. If our team had truly been 'chased away,' these items would not be in our custody. Our goal is simple: to allow events to proceed in a way that respects both enjoyment and community welfare. We appreciate your support and understanding as we work together to create a balanced, vibrant, and law-abiding city.
