The way the emotion is slowly building up, as he is going down that list, his voice cracking a bit, his hands shaking. Cracking a joke or two to try to release a bit of pressure, but when comes the point of saying his name "to the honorary Canadian Connor Storrie, I share this award with you." and not find his face, his eyes, his smile in front of him, the absence is screaming in his chest and the tears are closer than ever. Cause to be here, and for that to happen not side by side, like everything they've experienced for the past year or so, this doesn't feel quite right. "A single person is missing for you, and the whole world is empty" So yes he got through that speech without crying (barely), but not without beautifully opening his heart up to us before, and showing just how much he loves him 💓

I met with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Barham Salih. We discussed the consequences of Russia's ongoing attacks on Ukraine's energy system and the assistance our people need. There must be more pressure to stop these attacks and more support for our people – especially those who are currently in Ukraine or planning to return. I thank Barham Salih for his first visit to Ukraine since taking office and for all the support that the UN Refugee Agency provides to our people who are forced to live under Russian attacks.
