Words cannot express how ignorant this is. This is the downside to giving every person access to the internet to voice their opinions.

I've met PPL like this in the spirtual/law of attraction community and they really are the worst kind of humans. They will use anything to justify their cruel indifference to the suffering of others. When I say "blind leading the blind" they are the main ones I'm talking bout.

When I first came to San Diego in 1981, I looked around & said to myself, “San Diego isn’t very expensive”. Rented a (cheaply) furnished studio apt for $190/month. Fast forward to today. Here’s a listing for the same floor plan. Starting wages haven’t gone up 10x since 1981!

I "pretended to be homeless..." Well when you pretend you know it's not real, it can end at anytime. So this is beyond ignorant. I was kicked out for the first time at 15. Luckily a friend's mom took me in, but I was still without a home. I.E. when they left for Christmas with family, I slept in the backyard tree house and watched my cup of water freeze, wrapped up in my trench coat for a blanket. This was my parents answer to me being different. As a parent there is NOTHING my kids could do that would have me kick them out. And when you're under 18 you can't even sign a lease, etc...

Entitled white woman who's never had to worry where money comes from stating that Homeless is a choice. While there are welfare and unemployment programs that are our there to keep people off of the streets, some folks fall through the cracks, the systems in place fail to help them. Not everyone comes from a position of privilege.

Haha no way this is real. “I pretended to be homeless for a few hours then I went home and wasn’t homeless anymore. See how easy it is to not be homeless”

This drips of so much privilege it stinks of it. The utter lack of empathy screams narcissistic tendencies. So few people make a conscious effort to practice empathy. This is the most egregious recent example I’ve seen. That’s saying a lot being on here.

White privilege is a choice. The only difference is the story you're telling yourself. If you want to be spoiled, if you want to experience what it's like to have everything handed to you, you can go have that experience. And you can create BS stories as to why you're absolutely clueless and insensitive to the plight of thousands of people who are forced to live on the street... because even if you're forced... it's still a choice. The wrong choice. But a choice. And it's worse.

I recently worked on a charity helpline and a lot of people who were losing their housing had been hit by a car or gotten sick for a few months so they couldn't work. Or they had lifelong disabilities.
