In Belgium, you’re legally required to stay in the right lane on highways when there’s no traffic. Many drivers ignore this and hog the middle or left lane like seen in this video and yes, you can get fined for it. Tesla FSD does it perfectly: it automatically merges back to the right when the lane is clear. Overtaking on the right is strictly forbidden (with even bigger fines)

I’ve noticed a new behavior in FSD version 14.2.2.2: when approaching an intersection from a single dedicated left-turn lane, the car occasionally completes the turn into the second lane from the left rather than the leftmost lane, which is what most drivers typically do. Interestingly it is legal to do so in California.

A motorist avoided a head-on collision with a rogue truck going the wrong side on the Delhi Dehradun Corridor. This 6-lane highway is described as "access controlled" by NHAI. Had this driver been distracted or driving in the right lane, he and his family would most likely be dead or seriously injured. A cement mixer and a car were also on the wrong side. Clearly, the highway maintenance teams are not doing their job. Approximately 205,000 people are killed in road accidents in India annually. The US, with 6 times more cars than India, has 47,000 fatalities.

Hard to put into words what happened yesterday. I had zero awareness of the car that nearly brushed us on the right. In a fraction of a second it moved us from the middle lane into the left lane. My wife and I were completely speechless. We’re both safe because of that reaction. If we had stayed in the lane, things could have gone very differently. This is the kind of moment that makes you trust the system.
