This is the closest Game we have to compare to GTA VI in terms of Open-World Gameplay. This Matrix: Awakens footage was recorded on Xbox Series X and as you can see the FPS is struggling to stay above 30FPS. The resolution also takes a big hit when you start moving the camera too fast because of so much processing happening at the same time. Considering GTA 6 has probably 10X times the mechanics of NPCs behavior going on and physics that are miles ahead of this game, it's safe to say that a performance mode is going to be near impossible in a PS5/Xbox Series X and S Version. Perhaps when PS5 Pro launches we will get a 60FPS mode, but things are looking rough right now. If you think GTA VI is going to be difficult to optimize for current gen consoles which all have 16GB of RAM respectively (except Xbox Series S) Then you can't imagine the pain Rockstar Games must have gone through when they had to optimize GTA V for PS3 and Xbox 360. Each one of these consoles had 512MB of total memory, PS3 had 256MB XDR DRAM and 256MB VRAM. For comparison, google chrome with 3 tabs open can take up to 2GB of RAM memory today. Yet, somehow Rockstar Games managed to have this game running on an internal resolution of 720p, targeting 30FPS which is an incredible feat in my opinion. For how massive GTA V was, they truly pushed these consoles to the absolute maximum

One of the Grand Theft Auto V downsides was that it didn't match GTA IV in terms of euphoria ragdoll physics, in this example here you can see how easily the NPCs die when you shoot them on the foot. Part of the reason why I believe the euphoria engine was downgraded was due to the scale of GTA V and that it was designed for PS3/Xbox 360 consoles. Fast Forward a generation later, Red Dead Redemption 2 is much better compared to this, but I still prefer the one in Grand Theft Auto IV. When GTA VI comes out, perhaps we will see a more improved version of euphoria ragdoll physics which will be a mix of both GTA IV style ragdolls and Red Dead Redemption 2.
