In my experience, V14.3.3 is the worst parking version of FSD since parking was introduced to the stack (V14.1). In this clip, you can see that FSD has everything going for it. The new charging map is there, the open spot is as clear as day. As FSD begins its reverse, it straddles two spots, one of which is not a supercharging spot. It was gunning (very poorly) for the spot that wasn’t even a supercharger spot before I took over. I’ve been having it do stuff like this, attempt to back into spots with crossed lines that clearly aren’t parking spots, etc. don’t remember having this bad of an experience on any other 14 build

PUMPED for Tesla FSD V14.3 Elon said 14.3 “is where the last big piece of the puzzle finally lands.” He alluded to the car using reasoning to consider which parking spot to select. The car will let you out at the store’s entrance, then proceed to locate a parking space. It will identify open spots far more effectively than a person. Let’s see if this is included with the update. Super excited.

This is huge and exactly what is needed for FSD. Elon Musk says future FSD software releases will remember your parking preferences when arriving at a destination. The only time I need to disengage FSD is when reversing into my garage to charge. Hopefully now it’ll remember where and how I want to park. This could also help people with dedicated parking spots at work, etc. I can’t wait to try it out, I know a lot of people were waiting for something like this.

One year ago this week, this is what the Tropicana Las Vegas site was looking like. There is a lot happening with construction right now and it's really starting to look like a baseball stadium. Once it's built, you will see how they will be able to squeeze the resort, retail spaces and parking in. I will have some updated drone footage soon.

The City of San Diego is now planning to charge hotels $15K per space for valet parking in downtown. Up from just $600 annually, a city rules committee just approved the increase to $15K. The full city council will vote on the issue soon. Charging hotels the full “lost revenue” of a parking space, as if it were fully occupied 365 days per year 24/HRs per day might seem like it makes sense…after all why shouldn’t hotels pay that? Three reasons: 1) parking fees were never meant to balance the budget - they’re meant to cover the nominal maintenance costs and generate turnover to provide greater access to areas. 2) the spaces would not be used 365/24 if they were freed up so at least some discount should be applied to the projected lost revenue of $15K. 3) the downtown hotels were designed with a valet parking plan that was already approved by the city based on the rates previously established. This is yet another policy that will make businesses think twice before investing in San Diego.

FSD V14.2.2.4 Cutting Through a Gas Station Parking Lot? I don't think I've ever seen FSD drive like this before, but on my drive this morning it happened twice in a row. Rather than proceed to the stop light, it cut into a gas station and drove through the parking lot, then did the same at the next intersection. Afterward, it pulled into a parking lot with "Do Not Enter" signs at the entrance and parked in a stall. The real issue is that I was navigating to a Tesla Supercharger nowhere near that parking lot.

This is the current most frequent weakness of FSD for me. There are a few other things they need to finish, but everything outside of this scenario is super rare for me and mostly an afterthought. It’s incredible that FSD can maneuver through these spaces and eventually figure itself out, but it is still not smart enough in parking lots/garages to be usable. When you let it go, it usually figures itself out, but it takes forever and usually blows by tons of parking spots. The only reason it didn’t get stuck in an infinite loop here is because I toggled destination option from “charging” to “parking lot.” Not sure why it was set to charging, as this destination isn’t a charging destination. I have found that the default destination opinion is very often wrong. It either picks the wrong option, or doesn’t have options like charging when it should. For now, most of us take over at parking lots. Not because FSD isn’t capable here, but because it doesn’t function intelligently enough to be more convenient than just finishing the park yourself. It kinda reminds me of V12 before FSD could reverse. It feels like the brain knows it’s fucking up and wants to do the right thing, but it is blocked from being able to 😂 Wen reasoning stack

🚨 LAS VEGAS A’S STADIUM UPDATE: LET’S TALK PARKING. ⚾🚗 Because if there’s one thing that can turn a great night in Las Vegas into a nightmare… it’s parking. 😂 At 5 AM this morning we caught crews working on the southeast side of the A’s stadium site — the same side where the new parking garage is planned. The current plan calls for 2,470 on-site parking spaces — about 2,370 for stadium use and another 100 for office staff. (Las Vegas Review-Journal) And here’s where it gets interesting: Clark County’s normal parking formula would have called for 7,650 spaces — but the A’s transportation study says there are roughly 49,000 existing parking spaces within walking distance of the ballpark. (Ballpark Digest) So this stadium is clearly being built around a very different Vegas model: Park nearby. Walk over. Rideshare. Use existing Strip garages. Americans are outraged over apartment complexes starting to charge for guest visitations at apartments There is also reports of apartments charging a “work from home fee” The guest visitation fee is being collected mainly through new parking rules. If you have a guest come over apartments are starting to charge for parking Complexes are charging 0.50–$5+ per hour or $5–$20+ per day for guest spots I’ve seen overnight parking go for as much as $20-$40 We can’t let this become the norm. My Tesla was pulling into a parking lot when a gardening truck full of tools started backing up. I thought “Shit, what if he can’t see me because his rear view is blocked? I better reverse” But before I could even reach over to shift gears, my Tesla reversed itself to get out of the way, and then just pulled into the parking spot. Really cool when your car’s AI is able to complete your thoughts faster than you can lift a finger.
