I spent most of my time on the movie working on the Stark Expo, but I did make a teensy, tiny contribution to the above sequence: I animated the eye lights for War Machine and Iron Man after their helmets come down. 😁

🎥Ten Soldiers of Genghis Khan Limited-Time Free Viewing on GJW+ This epic actioner features the relentless warriors from Genghis Khan's ten soldiers, sent into the woods on a dangerous mission that puts them on the edge of life and death.

You should seriously do a podcast about VFX and analyzing techniques in movies and TV, talking to other VFX artists, and even talking about your own work! And maybe you could even watch movies and episodes and do running commentaries!

This is an interesting idea.

God I miss the clunks and the weight sound of the “non nano” helmets

I remember when seeing the bts on the blu ray, someone from ILM said that this shot was done entirely CG, minus the brief shot where you see RDJ and Don Cheadle. I kept scrutinizing to see any cg flaws, but it just kept looking real, and still to this day, looks photo real.

correct

Amazing work, as always. I know it would probably be impossible, but have you ever shared the specific sequences you're proudest to have been involved in?

I’d always heard it said that this sequence was choreographed with input from Genndy Tartakovsky and I’ve always wondered how that would work; could you share what level of guidance you would have by the time it gets to the Effects Dept? Are there outlines or storyboards?

That is unbelievable that Marvel’s VFX quality dropped so much lately. This scene from 2010 looks so much better than anything for last three years

Still one of the coolest sequences of the MCU. The tangibility of the suits in Iron Man 1-2, Avengers 1 was just something to behold . Love this work!!
