Earlier today, we delivered the first consignment of assorted Ugandan goods, including Mirinda Orange, kalo, and Ugandan coffee, to a store / ware house in Toronto City. I thank my colleagues and childhood refugee friends from Eritrea who spent most of their adolescent years in Kampala for this great initiative and partnership. We also thank President Yoweri K Museveni for welcoming millions of refugees into Uganda over the years. Today, many of them are successful entrepreneurs and investors engaged in international trade and creating opportunities across the world. Let us continue promoting Ugandan products and trade globally. Two more stores are set to open soon in Vancouver and Winnipeg. God bless Uganda and all those promoting African trade and unity.

I thanked President Xi Jinping and the people of China for the strong and historic friendship between our two countries. Uganda values China's decision to open its market to our products under the zero-tariff arrangement, which will boost trade and investment opportunities for our people. We also discussed the need for dialogue and peaceful solutions to international conflicts instead of force and confrontation. Uganda and China have continued to enjoy cordial relations for about 70 years now , rooted in mutual respect and cooperation.

Today, I held a meeting with our foreign affairs team regarding our special foreign policy opportunities. These opportunities are available to our state thanks to many Ukrainians and millions of citizens from other countries who believe in Ukraine and support us. These opportunities allow us to keep Ukraine in the global spotlight, increase support for our state and our people, and effectively advocate for Ukrainian needs. The primary need is to end the war as quickly and justly as possible. Ukrainians have endured and achieved so much in this war because we have united not only within our state but also kept the world united for the right cause – for Ukraine and for everything that makes our world humane and capable of defeating evil. Our unity must continue to be preserved – everyone here in Ukraine, everyone in Europe, and the world who values Ukraine and life.
