Yesterday I explained that the logical basis for Africa getting involved in the Russia-Ukraine war was because more than half of Africa buys its wheat from both Russia and Ukraine. Today President Cyril Ramaphosa said exactly the same thing explaining that they were there because Africa is now in... trouble economically. If Vladimir Putin wanted a dignified way out of this mess, this could be a good opportunity because it gives credit to an unlikely outfit, African Presidents. However the war won’t end without Russia withdrawing or being forced to withdraw. It is now a proxy war with America and its allies seeking to degrade Russia’s ability to start another war after realizing that it wasn’t as strong as the world thought it was. Russia invaded Ukraine. Ukraine posed no threat to the largest country in the world. Russia is bombing civilian targets to break the will of the Ukrainian civilian populations. Ukrainians are not fighting and dying on behalf of anyone but themselves. To call it a proxy war is an insult to Ukrainians who are fighting and dying for their lives and for their dignity.

Firstly of all, this has always been a NATO proxy war, 2ndly it is Zelensky who is refusing to come to the peace table. 3rdly Russia has the upper hand in the war both in warzone and economically. The EU is going into recession &so is America. The war must stop, so is propaganda.

We in Ukraine have responded positively to all proposals from the U.S. and President Trump to end all these attacks and killings. Ukraine has also proactively put forward various formats to bring the war to an end. It is Putin alone who is interested in these killings. Every day, this war remains solely his war – the war of Russia alone. And we expect the world to draw conclusions from this. Especially after the drone incursions into Poland – a country that is extremely important for the security of all Europe. A country that respects America and President Trump. It is crucial that Europe truly understands: when it comes to Russia, it is not about one neighbor or another, it is about everyone. Otherwise, Russia will draw its own conclusions and only expand the war – and not necessarily against Ukraine alone.

Fortunately, Ukraine no longer even pays much attention to that. Biden administration missed an opportunity because they never said, "We want Ukraine to win." They had this nonsense, "We're with you for as long as it takes," which means exactly zero. But at least they were providing support. Trump administration is worse and It does feel like they now realize that their approach was doomed from the beginning, because they didn't understand why the war started or how it started. They didn't understand why Ukrainians were fighting the way they were and why the Russians were failing the way they were. So despite Trump administration, I think Ukraine has changed the trajectory of the war. The last thing I'd say is that most European countries realize that the best way to prevent Russia from ever attacking a NATO country is to make sure that Ukraine defeats Russia.
