>Nintendo players discover 25 year old cube mapped reflection technology for the first time in their lives.

I have a PS5 and have played Spiderman with RTX on lol. That doesn't mean I can't be impressed or surprised by how some effects are implemented in other games and series

Omg this actually made me lose it 🤣

I think it’s dynamic cubemaps. Basically in real time the game renders a lower quality, 360 view from the position of the camera, then that 360 view (the cubemap) is the texture for reflections. Many racing games and GTA5 do this. This render usually lacks moving objects

Ah that makes sense! Neat finally seeing it in a Nintendo game (at least, I can't recall any instances as prominent as this)

Heartwarming: Nintendo fan amazed by technology thats been available for years ❤️

Welcome to the world of qube maps. The same technique as for example GTA5 on PS3

??? Is that like ... a new technology for Nintendont's ? 🤣 Or is that a satirical post or something.

Nintendo fans seeing current gen graphics for the first time 💀
