ARE 1 ON 0 WORKOUTS THE BEST WAY TO TRAIN? I moved away from 1 on 0 workouts a long time ago. They are great if the player has a specific technical need. It allows you to slow down and dive deep with the player. Other than that… multi player workouts are exponentially more productive and beneficial for the players. This allows them to still work on technical skill, but it allows you to put them in an environment where they have to read multiple players on the court- exactly how the game will be. Add in the fact that it forces players to compete and it’s a no brainer!

You want to see progress and development, not perfection. When they get to High School, those are the qualities that are going to increase their value compared to their skills. Before you say, no we’re trying to get this $$$ in college basketball…. If you play at a level in college where you will get paid - you are obviously pretty good. Defenders like Shane Battier were All Defense level players with great length and defensive ability. Ron Artest as well. The paint is packed. And there isn’t 2-4 players on the court at all times that will jack up a 3 so the perimeter and the paint is all packed. You have to be elite. You have to be the BEST to score on this. You have to be an elite shooter that can be effective in a small space. That can make a shot with a hand in the face. That can shoot off angles and off balance. Can’t you see? I give Jordan the edge because of his freakish athletic ability. But this man Kobe Bryant mastered the skill of the game. When players like Reggie Miller says that Kobe was Jordan but took it to another level because of Kobe’s jump shooting, THIS IS WHAT HE WAS REFERRING TO.
