Pinal County Sheriff Ross Teeple announced Wednesday his department will not renew its contract with automated license plate reader vendor Flock Safety, letting the deal lapse at the end of September over Fourth Amendment privacy concerns. "The only way to stop this mass surveillance system, and the government’s involvement in it, is to stop our cities from signing away our rights through these contracts," said Nathan Taylortaft, co-director of East Valley Unite, the organization spearheading the campaign against ALPRs in Chandler. "Proponents of Flock will argue that we are on the side of crime, but it’s the opposite. Crime is being committed through Flock’s system, and we want that system ended through city ordinances, and laws protecting our privacy."

Florida’s surveillance problem keeps getting harder to explain. Oviedo: fake Flock cameras were installed without the mayor knowing. Pasco: a commissioner admitted she hadn’t read the license-plate-reader contract, then defended it against concerns about warrantless mass surveillance. Manatee County: the sheriff said there’s “a lot of misinformation” surrounding Flock cameras. Interestingly, Flock CEO Garrett Langley has also used the misinformation line in an NBC interview. Okaloosa County: Langley emailed the sheriff’s department claiming activists were trying to “weaponize” public-records requests. Yet politicians and Flock’s CEO still can’t figure out why people don’t trust license plate readers.

Americans even in rural towns are saying they are under surveillance by Flock Cameras “I pass 8 Flock cameras on the way to my kids' school — 2 stoplights, but 8 Flock cameras. I live in a rural county. I'm passing more surveillance cameras than I am businesses. That's insane” “So yeah, surveillance state coming to a rural county near you” This is the surveillance state being established Many people think there are just a few flock cameras being put up in counties, but that’s not the case. The amount of cameras would shock you Harris County Sheriff’s Office has access to 480 Flock cameras The greater Houston area has nearly 3,800 Flock cameras installed across the region This is mass surveillance

🚨WOW!!!!!! A Texas constable has unplugged every single Flock camera in his county. "I don’t believe “safety” should be a word that automatically ends the discussion whenever individual liberty is involved." "Flock, come get your GARBAGE out of my county..." County commissioners in Hood County voted unanimously in April to end its contract with Flock, which included three cameras, and the constable finished the job of shutting down the Flock cameras by unplugging them and covering them with a hood. The constable further wrote: "When government has the ability to collect, search and share information about the movements of people who aren’t suspected of committing a crime, I believe that raises serious Fourth Amendment and privacy concerns. The answer can’t simply be, “Trust us. We won’t misuse it.”

Arizona Congressional candidate and retired Pinal County Sheriff Sheriff Mark Lamb breaks down the recent ICE shooting in Maine—noting that these tragic cases mostly take place in states that do not cooperate with federal immigration officers. “As long as these people are continuing to run or trying to elude these guys, you're going to have these types of situations. Nobody likes to see it… Where the states have delineated and said, ‘we don’t want local law enforcement working with our federal partners,’ that’s where you’re seeing these issues.” Watch The Matt Gaetz Show on OAN Live Today!

🚨Genesee County uses Flock cameras to capture and search vehicle data. But when Kettering University student Josh Tewolde requested records showing where the cameras are, who accessed the data and whether his vehicle was scanned, the county withheld key information. Its excuse? The records belong to Flock, a private contractor. But the county’s own contract says it owns the data. Josh is suing because government should not be able to hide public surveillance records behind a private company. If the government uses the cameras, the public deserves transparency.

ALERT: Vigilantes go on a rampage, destroying FLOCK cameras in a quiet Northern California county. Marcus Bee, 40, was one of the alleged suspects and was seen destroying 3 of the Flock cameras and even ramming one with his truck in Monterey County. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office arrested Bee on suspicion of felony vandalism and set his bail at $30,000. Seaside police have stated that 2 cameras were also destroyed and believe it is a targeted incident. “There’s more than just vandalism alone. I’m sure people have seen on the internet that this is kind of a trend, so we’re looking at possible conspiracy to commit a crime beyond the vandalism, and also those Flock cameras are computer systems, so it’s denying access to a computer system, which is a felony in California.”

It looks like the Volusia County, FL Sheriff Mike Chitwood thinks it's a good use of taxpayer dollars to pay a fabricator to build hidden compartments for Flock cameras so he can violate everyone's basic 4th Amendment rights and sell/give the information to 3rd parties without anyone's consent. Vote accordingly... #CityLife #florida #police #crime #PoliceState #4thAmendment #14thAmendment #CivilRights #ALPR #cops #stalking #women #volusia #flock #SurveillanceState #DaytonaBeach #PortOrange

Q: There are reports where a fire dept commander asked a Kerr County sheriff dispatcher for a code red to be issued but they said they couldn't without a supervisor approving it. Almost 6 hours passes. How do you account for that lapse of time? KERR COUNTY SHERIFF: There's gonna be an after action

Lumpkin County, GA sheriff who offered $1000 reward for info on broken Flock camera shifts tone after backlash ----- It's good that he's starting to see our side more but he clearly doesn't go far enough. Now he wants to "regulate" the cameras more. Perhaps with continued pushback he'll finally see all of the light and agree to ban them.

Tucker Carlson says that Flock Safety Cameras aren’t about safety, they’re about mass surveillance “The promise is that if you give up your privacy, your right to kind of walk around without having your face analyzed and sent to headquarters somewhere in this or another country, you would in exchange get what? Safety. The problem is it hasn't worked that way. Harris County, Texas has over 3,000 license plate readers. You would think it would be the safest place in the United States, but weirdly, Harris County, Texas had over 500 murders in 2025. How is it that we increase the surveillance past what 1984 describes, and we still have 500 murders in one U.S. county” The data backs this up Advocacy groups such as the Texas Civil Rights Project have identified that there are nearly 3,800 Flock cameras in the surrounding greater Houston area The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has reported access to around 480 of these cameras Yet the murder rate is extremely high Harris County recorded about 503 homicides in 2024 We need to get rid of Flock cameras while we still can, this is about mass surveillance

Huge thank you and congratulations to Sheriff Pierce and the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office for seizing over 200 grams of fentanyl, enough to kill 100,000 people. This wasn’t just a drug bust. It was a life-saving operation. Thank you to the local law enforcement who step up every single day and keep our communities safe! 🇺🇸

Please see this video and press release regarding Flock cameras in Knox County. Video transcript: Hello, this is Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs. Today, I am urging our Commission to prohibit the use of Flock cameras and similar devices in our County. For those of you who don't know, these cameras, technically called Automated License Plate Readers, are motion activated and take a picture of every car which passes by. While License Plate Readers have been around for a while, because of AI and vastly increased networking and data retention capacities, these Flock cameras have capabilities not even imagined in the past. Older cameras only took a photo of your license plate, which was then retained for a short time. Flock cameras take a photo of your place, but also use AI to catalogue distinguishing features of your vehicle: make, color, model, even bumper stickers. That data is stored in a searchable database for sometimes up to a month or more, depending on the policies of that particular agency. When these cameras are deployed in large numbers, they create a network that can be used to track your movements. Currently, there is no federal regulatory framework governing these devices in place, and the Tennessee laws regulating them were written over a decade ago. My fear is that may be inadvertantly creating a warrantless mass surveillance system and undermining the privacy and Liberty of our people. So I urge the Tennessee General Assembly and the United States Congress to look at this issue and take neccessary action to safeguard our privacy and civil liberties as these new technologies continue to emerge. Thank you.

Flock cameras have been out up in the Richland Wildlife Management Area in Florida The location of the flock cameras are in “miles and miles of Florida wilderness with no neighborhoods or shopping centers, subdivisions or traffic lights around — Why are there surveillance cameras here? Why are there license plate readers sitting at the crossroads of a wildlife management area? Who are they watching? The hunters? People exercising their Second Amendment rights? Families going camping? Fishermen headed to a boat ramp? Because it isn't just here” “But here's the question that no one seems willing to ask: How much surveillance are we willing to accept? For decades, law enforcement investigated crimes without building massive networks of cameras that record the movements of millions of law-abiding Americans” I have ferried these cameras are indeed there, and there is literally nothing around the area They were installed by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office which has also deployed dozens of Flock cameras across the county. From what I can find, over 40 installed on county roads Law enforcement says there are here for - Recovering stolen vehicles - Tracking suspects - Solving crimes in these rural areas - General public safety They look like unnecessary surveillance. There is literally nothing around here I have included a video that shows just how far these cameras really are from society, it’s shocking
