Our veterans wrote a blank check to this country, up to and including their lives. The least America can do is keep its promise to them. Instead, too many veterans are stuck waiting for care while politicians put themselves first. Men and women who served this country should never have to fight their own government for the benefits they earned. Right here in Boston, Mayor Michelle Wu gave herself a raise while cutting benefits for veterans. That’s not leadership. That’s disgraceful. As we head into Memorial Day, remember this: veterans kept their word to America. It’s time politicians start keeping theirs.

I support better care for veterans living with TBI and for our combat-injured warriors. Those parts of the bill are needed. But you still should not take away from one group of veterans to give to another group of veterans. Take the money from foreign aid and use it to take care of OUR warriors. Our warriors are the men and women you sent overseas to fight for the freedom and liberty of people in countries that often do not respect them, appreciate them, or give a damn about them, while our own government looks for ways to cut the benefits they earned. Get your priorities straight. Before you take one damn thing away from the men and women you sent to fight, cut the billions being handed to the foreign countries you sent them to fight in and start taking care of our own. I can totally understand where veterans are coming from when they say they feel let down. People sacrificed everything so we could have a safe and secure country. Whether it is about extremists or illegal immigration we are seeing British lives being taken on a daily basis due to the failure of our government, as well as a failure of our safety and security and the failure to utilise our military.

Today, I want to thank each and every one of our veterans. You make this country the greatest country in the world. You put yourselves at risk for all of us. You served us, and now you deserve our service. I also want to ask all of my followers and fans to do more than enjoy the holiday or post a picture of a flag. It is our turn to serve these heroes. My tradition is bringing pizza to the vets at the Veterans Affairs center in LA and hanging with them to make sure they know how thankful I am. You can make your own tradition - thank a veteran, buy them dinner, or just write to your politicians and demand that we take better care of our heroes.

Yes University doesn’t guarantee a job in South Africa, unfortunately our government isn’t equipped to create jobs. BEE policies have kept our doors closed for investors. A degree loses value every year, because they are always hundreds and hundreds of People, obtaining the same Degree as yours!

South Carolina has a serious problem: magistrates handing down sentences without even having a law degree. Pedophiles getting less than a day in jail. Rapists walking free. Murderers with no consequences. This isn't justice, it's a broken system failing victims every single day. As Governor, I'll require legal expertise on the bench and ensure criminals face real consequences. South Carolina's families deserve a justice system that actually works. Victims deserve better. Our state deserves better.

This Army Veteran is homeless. He was seen panhandling on the street when these folks stopped to just talk with him. They picked him up and took him out to eat and found him a place to stay for a week. The fact that men like this are living on the street and going hungry makes me so mad! WE MUST do better for our Veterans!! They deserve so much better.

Today, we welcomed home more than 60 Maine veterans in Bangor as they returned from a trip to Washington, D.C., organized by Honor Flight Maine. These veterans visited the memorials built in our nation’s capital to pay tribute to their service. It was deeply moving to join their families and friends in showing them the gratitude and respect they have earned, and to remind them that their sacrifices will never be forgotten.

This isn't just a failure; it's a betrayal of the highest order by the North East Lincolnshire Council and a system that has clearly lost its way. The charity SSAFA has an agreement, a promise to house these brave individuals when they sought help from the council. Yet, here we are - with veterans, our heroes, reduced to living conditions worse than some would treat stray dogs. The council was handed £35,000 to ensure veterans had roofs over their heads, not just for warmth but as a thank you for their service. Where has that money gone? Into bureaucracy? Into the pockets of those who don't understand sacrifice? While we house thousands of illegal migrants in hotels, our own, who fought for our freedoms, are left to fend for themselves. This isn't about politics; it's about humanity, dignity, and respect. The council, the government - they've all failed these men. Failed to honor their service, failed to provide basic human dignity. Every single one of us should be up in arms about this. This isn't just a local issue; it's a national scandal. We need answers, we need action, and most importantly, we need these veterans housed and cared for, not just as a duty but as a moral imperative. I've taken the decision to use some of the money Tristan Tate so kindly donated to house these veterans in a hotel over the Christmas period until we can get them the help and support they desperately need SHAME ON YOU, NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL. Some of the WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War vets were heard gasping as Obama stepped on the plane before the veterans went on a tour around D.C. "Hello, everybody. As we approach Veterans Day, I just wanted to stop by and say thank you for your extraordinary service," Obama said. "To you, your family, the sacrifices that you all made to protect our country are something that will always be honored, and we are very grateful." Well said.
