#Kobani #Kurds #Rojava #Syria Urgent Statement Addressed to the United Nations Regarding the Siege Imposed on the City of Kobani (Human Rights Organization in Syria Human Rights Organization in the Euphrates) Our organization follows with grave concern the serious humanitarian developments resulting from the siege imposed on the city of Kobani and its countryside for several days. This siege places the lives of approximately half a million civilians at direct risk amid harsh living conditions that are deteriorating day by day. The complete cutoff of water, electricity, and fuel, combined with the total lack of basic humanitarian aid—including food, medicine, infant formula, and heating supplies—has led to a sharp decline in the humanitarian situation. Furthermore, the Kurdish Red Crescent has reported fatalities among children due to extreme cold and the lack of medical care, serving as a dangerous indicator of an impending large-scale humanitarian catastrophe if immediate intervention is not undertaken. The continuation of this siege constitutes a clear violation of International Humanitarian Law, particularly the obligations related to the protection of civilians and ensuring unhindered access to aid, in accordance with the Geneva Conventions and customary rules binding on all parties. Accordingly, we issue this urgent appeal to: The United Nations, the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and all relevant international bodies to: Take immediate action to lift the siege on the city of Kobani and its countryside. Open safe humanitarian corridors to ensure the protection of civilians and the evacuation of the most vulnerable cases. Deliver urgent humanitarian aid—including food, medicine, fuel, and heating materials—without any delay. Secure access for international relief teams to assess needs and provide an emergency response. Pressure all parties to ensure respect for International Humanitarian Law and prevent the imposition of any form of collective punishment on civilians. We emphasize that the protection of civilians is a legal and moral responsibility of the international community. Any delay in intervention will exacerbate the suffering of the population and result in avoidable loss of life. We demand urgent action before the current crisis turns into an uncontainable humanitarian disaster. Human Rights Organization in Syria Human Rights Organization in the Euphrates, January 24, 2026

I deplore today’s strikes on the PRCS-run Al-Amal hospital in the southern #Gaza city of Khan Younis, which severely damaged the Palestine Red Crescent Society training centre located within the hospital complex. My World Health Organization (WHO) and UN Humanitarian colleagues today undertook a mission to the facilities, where they witnessed extensive damage and displacement of civilians The attacks, according to the PRCS, killed at least five civilians, including a 5-day old infant. 14,000 people were sheltering at the hospital in the besieged southern #Gaza city of Khan Younis. Many of them have now left, and those remaining are extremely fearful for their safety and planning to leave a place they had turned to for refuge and protection. Hospitals, ambulances, health workers, and people seeking care must be protected, at all times, under international humanitarian law. Today’s bombardments are unconscionable. Gaza’s health system is already on its knees, with health and aid workers continuously stymied in their efforts to save lives due to the hostilities. I join international calls for an immediate ceasefire, including urgent action to ensure the accelerated and unimpeded flow of food, medical supplies, water and other essential items to millions of civilians forced to live in unspeakable conditions of hunger, disease spread, and lack of hygiene and sanitation. Gazans are still receiving only a fraction of the supplies they had access to before the war, just as only a fraction of Gazans in need of medical evacuation are being evacuated. This is unacceptable in light of the dire humanitarian catastrophe which has unfolded over three months. Indeed, WHO’s movements, particularly in northern Gaza and increasingly in the south, have been severely impeded by the ongoing violence inside Gaza. Our operations are further impeded when essential local partners, like the PRCS, are themselves needlessly impacted by the strikes. This on top of widespread deaths, suffering and decimation of homes, roads and other infrastructure across this tiny coastal strip of land. If the conditions for a cease-fire in hostilities have not been met by now, I do not know what it will take. WHO reiterates that health must never be a target during conflicts, and all effort must be taken to protect health facilities, health workers, and patients.

ISRAEL CONDEMNS THE POLITICIZATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE AT UNESCO As the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee convenes in Busan, South Korea, the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on Committee members to reject the cynical weaponization of cultural heritage and the complete betrayal of professional integrity that threaten to destroy the credibility of the World Heritage Convention. The case of Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon exposes this profound international failure. For years, Hezbollah has systematically weaponized and desecrated this historic Crusader fortress, converting it into a military stronghold. Hezbollah constructed a massive network of terror tunnels directly beneath the ancient site and launched approximately 400 rockets at Israeli civilians from this compound. Lebanon bears full responsibility for allowing a terrorist organization to exploit its sovereign territory and sensitive heritage sites. UNESCO’s silence on Hezbollah’s systematic desecration of Beaufort, while targeting Israel’s defensive operations, is a moral abdication. At the same time, the Palestinian delegation continues to exploit UNESCO to advance a hostile, one-sided campaign, specifically through its initiative concerning Sebastia, ancient Samaria. Sebastia is the historic, biblical capital of the ancient Kingdom of Israel. The attempt to portray the site as facing an emergency is entirely unsupported by professional evaluation, and serves only as a political tool to erase the site’s profound, well-documented Jewish and Christian history. The real threat to Sebastia is the Palestinian Authority's own record of neglect and complicity, which has allowed the ancient ruins to suffer rampant vandalism, theft, and desecration. UNESCO cannot remain silent when terrorists systematically hijack heritage sites, nor can it allow its platform to be exploited to erase well-documented history. This cynical weaponization of cultural heritage undermines the very credibility of the World Heritage Convention. Israel calls on the World Heritage Committee to reject one-sided political initiatives, condemn the military exploitation of heritage sites, and stand firm in defense of professional standards, historical truth, and the shared cultural heritage of humanity. 📸 Sebastia 📹 Beaufort

Open Letter: Time to Designate the PKK–SDF as a Terrorist Organization To the governments of the Arab League, the European Union, and the United States, My name is Michael Arizanti. I am writing to state, clearly and publicly, that the time for ambiguity has passed. The facts emerging from Aleppo- supported by field testimonies, video evidence, and admissions from platforms speaking on behalf of the PKK–SDF- demonstrate a consistent pattern of terrorism, war crimes, and systematic abuse of civilians. Continued political hedging only entrenches impunity. Admissions and Terrorist Modus Operandi Public statements from outlets aligned with the PKK–SDF acknowledge the conduct of suicide operations. These tactics are indistinguishable from those used by internationally designated terrorist organizations and echo recent atrocities: the church bombing in Damascus, the attempted church bombing in Aleppo on New Year’s, and the killing of a Syrian security officer who intervened to prevent that attack. On methods alone, the PKK–SDF belongs in the same category of terrorism as ISIS. Use of Human Shields and Militarization of Civilian Infrastructure In Sheikh Maqsoud, Aleppo, armed groups affiliated with the PKK–SDF transformed civilian facilities into military positions. As Syrian Army units advanced and cleared most combat locations, remaining elements entrenched themselves inside hospitals and medical centers- using patients, medical staff, and displaced civilians as human shields. Credible reporting indicates a command center operating from tunnels beneath a hospital. This is a textbook violation of international humanitarian law. Abuses Against Civilians- including Kurds Intelligence reporting and field testimonies describe grave abuses: 📍Dozens of families assaulted while attempting to flee combat zones. 📍Ten Kurdish young men reportedly killed for refusing forced recruitment to fight the Syrian state. 📍 Homes of families who had already fled allegedly set on fire. These acts amount to coercion, collective punishment, and intimidation- directed not only at Arab civilians but also at Kurds- exposing the militia-based logic governing PKK–SDF behavior. Targeting of Civilians with Precision Weapons On January 8, 2026, in al-Ashrafiyah, Aleppo, evidence indicates PKK–SDF elements used thermal-equipped sniper systems to target unarmed civilians as they attempted to flee. Precision targeting of non-combatants constitutes a grave breach of international humanitarian law, violates the principle of civilian protection, and raises serious concerns of deliberate narrative manipulation to shift blame onto Syrian government forces. Legal and Moral Imperatives International humanitarian law is unequivocal: civilians must be protected; hospitals and medical centers must never be militarized; persons not participating in hostilities must not be targeted. These are binding obligations and moral duties owed to every innocent life. My Demands 1. Immediate designation of the PKK–SDF as a terrorist organization by the Arab League, the European Union, and the United States. 2. An independent, transparent international investigation into PKK–SDF violations in Aleppo, including the use of human shields, hospital militarization, forced recruitment, arson, and sniper attacks on civilians. 3. Concrete accountability measures—sanctions, asset freezes, travel bans, and legal proceedings against responsible commanders and facilitators. 4. Unambiguous protection of civilians and strict enforcement of international humanitarian law, without political exceptions or selective standards. Failure to act now signals tolerance for terrorism under a different label. Acting decisively affirms the universality of international law and the equal value of all civilian lives- Arab and Kurdish alike. History will judge this moment. Michael Arizanti

BREAKING - Just interception of a suspected #Pakistani drone over AIIMS Jammu is a deeply alarming incident that demands immediate international attention and condemnation. It is not merely an act of provocation, but a brazen violation of established norms of warfare and international humanitarian law. Targeting a medical institution—especially one like #aiims, which serves civilians, the ailing, and frontline warriors—is not only reprehensible but also exposes the moral bankruptcy of Pakistan's state-sponsored terror mechanisms. AIIMS Jammu stands as a beacon of healthcare excellence in the region. Any attempt to compromise its security or operations is a direct attack on humanitarian values. #Pakistan's repeated misuse of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for surveillance and possible sabotage indicates a pattern of escalation. What makes it worse is their continued use of civilian infrastructure as shields for terror operations—turning training camps into factories of death. India has shown remarkable restraint and responsibility by launching precise strikes only on terrorist infrastructure without harming civilians or military installations. The international community must now rise to the occasion. Pakistan’s duplicity—preaching peace while engineering attacks—must be exposed on global platforms like the UN and Geneva conventions. We call upon democratic nations and global watchdogs to investigate and censure such transgressions. Peace cannot be built on the ruins of hospitals and the trauma of patients. The red line has been crossed—this is not just India’s issue; it is a question of global conscience. A disturbing video circulating on Ethiopian social media reveals a chilling endorsement of genocide by a pro-government activist, raising alarms over the fate of ethnic Amharas. The video features a prominent regime supporter loyal to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, making a public call for the massacre of Amhara civilians as the "solution" to end resistance from the Amhara region, particularly in Gojjam. This rhetoric marks a dangerous escalation in the Ethiopian government’s ongoing war with the Amhara people and highlights the severity of the humanitarian crisis. In the video, the activist openly advocates for the mass killing of civilians, arguing that the Ethiopian military's struggle in Gojjam is due to the overwhelming support the Amhara Fano (local armed resistance group) receives from the civilian population. According to his explanation, the military’s losses in the region are not solely the result of combat with the Fano fighters but are also because the entire Amhara community in Gojjam—farmers, youths, and everyday civilians—supports and aids the resistance. The activist bluntly claims that the only way to defeat the Amhara Fano in Gojjam is by wiping out the civilian population, insisting that massacring the entire community is essential to breaking the resistance. He further suggests that without such brutal measures, the conflict will continue indefinitely, as the local population is perceived as an integral part of the resistance movement. The activist’s statements are a stark endorsement of genocidal violence, raising fears that these views reflect the broader strategy of the Ethiopian government. These calls for mass violence against civilians are not isolated rhetoric. On the ground, there have been numerous reports of heavy bombardments targeting Amhara civilians and infrastructure in the region. In Gojjam’s Mecha district, for example, over 45 drone strikes were reported within a span of just three hours, wreaking havoc on civilian lives and property. Despite these alarming developments, the international community, including global institutions and human rights organizations, has largely remained silent. The video provides a clear and disturbing context for the Ethiopian government's military operations, revealing the genocidal intent behind its actions. The silence of international institutions in the face of such blatant incitement to violence is deeply troubling. The world has witnessed countless instances of ethnic violence and genocide in recent history, often followed by solemn declarations of "Never Again." Yet, in Ethiopia, as calls for genocide against the Amhara people grow louder, there is a shocking absence of international outcry. How many more lives must be lost before the global community acknowledges the unfolding genocide ? This video, which can be independently verified as a genuine translation from Amharic, should serve as a wake-up call. The activist’s brazen recommendation to massacre an entire ethnic group should trigger alarm bells in international institutions and human rights bodies. It is not just a call for violence; it is an explicit endorsement of genocide, aimed at eliminating an entire population perceived as an obstacle to military victory. The Ethiopian government, under the leadership of Abiy Ahmed, is already carrying out operations that reflect this narrative—bombarding civilian populations with artillery and drones. The international community must act now, not after the genocide has already taken its toll. History will judge the world's response to the suffering of the Amhara people, and there can be no excuse of ignorance. The global community is aware of the situation, and failure to act is tantamount to complicity. It is imperative that human rights organizations, international bodies, and governments around the world address this genocidal rhetoric and prevent further atrocities.

Following the widespread and organized suppression of the Iranian National Revolution, Iran International has obtained information that demonstrates the dimensions of this unprecedented crime. On this occasion, the editorial board of Iran International has published a statement declaring that the killing of 12,000 Iranian citizens will not be buried in silence. The text of this statement is as follows: Iran has plunged into an organized blackout, the goal of which is not merely security control but the concealment of the truth. The widespread internet shutdown, the paralyzing of communications, the unprecedented closure of media outlets, and the intimidation of journalists and witnesses have one meaning: preventing the observation, recording, and tracking of a massive and historic crime. In recent days, after receiving scattered but agonizing and shocking reports, Iran International employed its utmost efforts to reach a more precise assessment of the dimensions of the severe suppression and ruthless killing of people in the protests of the past days through professional verification. In a country where the government deliberately blocks the path of access to information, reaching this assessment is a difficult and time-consuming task, especially since haste in announcing incomplete casualty statistics could lead to errors in recording reality and distorting the dimensions of this great tragedy. Since Sunday, the volume of evidence and the overlapping of narratives reached a level where a relatively clear picture could be obtained. Over the past day, the editorial board of Iran International has reviewed information received from a source close to the Supreme National Security Council, two sources in the Presidential Office, narratives received from several sources in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the cities of Mashhad, Kermanshah, and Isfahan, narratives of eyewitnesses and families of the killed, field reports, data related to medical centers, and information that doctors and nurses in various cities have provided to us, in a precise, multi-stage manner and based on professional standards. By summarizing these reviews, we reached the conclusion that in the largest killing in contemporary Iranian history, mainly on two consecutive nights, Thursday and Friday, the 8th and 9th of January, at least 12,000 people have been murdered. This killing is unprecedented in the history of Iran in terms of geographical extent, intensity of violence, and the number of victims in a short period of time. Based on information reaching Iran International, these citizens were murdered mainly at the hands of the forces of the Revolutionary Guards and the Basij. This killing was completely organized, not scattered and unplanned clashes. Information reaching Iran International from the Supreme National Security Council and the Presidential Office shows that this killing took place with the order of Ali Khamenei personally, the knowledge and approval of the heads of the three branches of government, and the issuance of a direct fire order by the Supreme National Security Council; many of the victims were youths under 30 years old. The estimate of the number of killed based on existing data and the cross-referencing of information obtained from reliable sources, including from the Supreme National Security Council and the Presidential Office, indicates that the initial estimate of the security institutions of the Islamic Republic is that at least 12,000 people have been murdered in this nationwide killing. It is obvious that in conditions of communication blockage and lack of direct access to information, arriving at final statistics requires more precise documentation. The experience of recent years shows that security institutions have always refrained from recording and announcing precise statistics of victims through concealment. Iran International commits to making these statistics more precise with the help of its audience and through the path of gathering documents, cross-referencing narratives, and continuous verification so that no name is lost and the family of no victim remains voiceless. Regarding the status of communications and media, domestic media have been closed down. Hundreds of national and local newspapers went silent starting Thursday in an event unprecedented in the history of the Iranian press. Today, except for the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, only a few news websites are active inside the country, and even they work under censorship and direct control of security institutions. This situation is not a sign of crisis control; it is the government's admission of fear regarding the exposure of the truth. Call for sending documents: Iran International asks all compatriots inside and outside the country to send us any document, video, photo, audio narrative, information related to victims, medical centers, locations of conflict, time and place of occurrence, and any verifiable details of the events of the past few days. The security of sources and confidentiality of information is our definite priority. Iran International, after verification and precise assessment of information, will publish its findings and place them at the disposal of all relevant international authorities and institutions. The Islamic Republic cannot hide this crime by cutting off the connection of the Iranian people with the world. The truth will be recorded, the names of the victims will be preserved, and this massacre will not be buried in silence. These immortals belong not only to their grieving families and loved ones but to the Iranian National Revolution. The Editorial Board of Iran International.

Since the beginning of the war, and based on prior experiences, the Palestinian Ministry of Health has adopted a highly precise documentation process that aligns with international standards, especially those of the World Health Organization... This documentation is carried out through the “Sehhaty” program run by the United Nations and supervised by Ministry of Health staff... No martyr is recorded unless they arrive at a hospital, to ensure accuracy in a tribal and family-based society where names are tied to legal rights such as inheritance... Those who do not reach hospitals are documented later through the Palestinian judicial system based on family testimonies, witnesses, and official court rulings... So far, 56,000 martyrs have been documented with full names and ID numbers, including more than 17,000 children... If a single name were incorrect, it could turn into a major crisis—this is why we maintain the highest level of accuracy... No one has been able to question the credibility or accuracy of these figures to date... Although international estimates, such as The Lancet report, suggest that the actual number may be 46% higher, we remain committed to our case-by-case, verified figures.

Statement by 🇸🇦 on behalf of the Arab Group on Israel's accelerated annexation of Palestinian territory: ➡️The Arab Group expresses its deep alarm at the rapidly escalating situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, where Israel continues to implement policies that amount to accelerated annexation and a systematic dismantling of Palestinian rights. ➡️The Group stresses that Israel's recent measures are not isolated incidents but part of a coordinated strategy to entrench permanent control over Palestinian land, alter the demographic and geographic reality on the ground, and eliminate the possibility of the independence of the State of Palestine, as a sovereign, viable and contiguous State, in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions. ➡️ The dangerous steps taken by the Israeli government to advance the E1 plan constitute an existential threat to Palestinian independence and peace and must be immediately reversed. ➡️We reject all policies aimed at altering the demographic composition, character and status of the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, including, inter alia, the construction and expansion of settlements and the forced displacement of Palestinian civilians, in line with the resolutions of the Security Council, including resolution 2334. ➡️ We also warn against the ongoing attacks against the historic and legal status quo, notably as it pertains to Al-Aqsa Mosque /Al-Haram Al-Sharif. ➡️ We also condemn Israel’s unilateral measures targeting UNRWA and its decision to establish military facilities at the UNRWA compound in East Jerusalem, a move that is yet another manifestation of its continued violations of the Agency’s UN privileges and immunities. ➡️ The Arab group recalls the conclusion of the International Court of Justice that “the sustained abuse by Israel of its position as an occupying Power, through annexation and an assertion of permanent control over the Occupied Palestinian Territory and continued frustration of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, violates fundamental principles of international law and renders Israel’s presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory unlawful.” ➡️ We remind third parties of their obligations under the UN Charter, the relevant UN resolutions and international law, as regards the prohibition of the acquisition of Palestinian territory by force, including the obligations of non-recognition, non-assistance and distinction, as well as their obligation to ensure that any impediment resulting from the illegal presence of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory to the exercise of the Palestinian people of its right to self-determination is brought to an end. ➡️ In Gaza, the Arab Group underscores that the expansion of Israeli military control, ongoing assaults, and the deliberate restriction of humanitarian access have created a grave and intolerable humanitarian emergency. Civilians continue to suffer the consequences of policies that strip them of protection, essential services, and the most basic necessities of life. They stress the need for full respect of the principles reflected in resolution 2803 including as they pertain to respect of the ceasefire, humanitarian access, no occupation and no annexation, and no displacement of the Palestinian people. ➡️ The Arab Group denounces the Israeli annexationist policies unequivocally. The Group insists that such violations demand immediate international rejection and consequences. ➡️ The Arab Group urges the Security Council and the international community to take decisive action to immediately halt and reverse annexation-related activities, end settlement activities, cease the forced displacement of Palestinians, end ongoing illegal measures across the Occupied Palestinian Territory, and uphold accountability under international law.

This is not a local matter, nor a passing chapter in a prolonged tragedy — it is a crime against humanity, and its file cannot be closed with a falsified report issued by the perpetrator.
