The idea that "the West and the Jews are the reason why we have dysfunctional countries in the Arab world” is a dishonest deflection. How many innocent women and girls are supposed to be murdered by their families in the name of honor for us to realize that our problem is internal? How many men and children are supposed to support terrorist organizations for us to realize that we have a major ideological problem? How many of our minorities, like the Jews, the Kurds, and the gays, should pack their bags and run away from our countries until we realize that we are indiscriminately hostile to those different from us? How many of our girls should get married until we realize we have a problem? How many atheists, blasphemers, and ex-Muslims are supposed to get jailed or killed until we realize that we have a problem with empathy? How many gays are supposed to get hanged or thrown from rooftops until we realize that we do not care about our people? How many painters, artists, teachers, and comedians are supposed to be slaughtered by extremists until we realize that the problem comes from us? How much Arab blood is supposed to be spilled by other Arabs until we realize that WE are our biggest problem? Change doesn’t start ”out there” – it starts with us. We cannot continue to repeat the same traditions from our failed cultures and then point our fingers at the West and the Jews and say, ”They are the problem.” Blaming the West and the Jews is a convenient scapegoat. It means that the problem isn’t within us. It means that they should work on themselves, but we? We can remain as we are. Believing that our teachings and our culture are perfect is a problem. I'm observing a mini Moravec's paradox within robotics: gymnastics that are difficult for humans are much easier for robots than "unsexy" tasks like cooking, cleaning, and assembling. It leads to a cognitive dissonance for people outside the field, "so, robots can parkour & breakdance, but why can't they take care of my dog?" Trust me, I got asked by my parents about this more than you think ... The "Robot Moravec's paradox" also creates the illusion that physical AI capabilities are way more advanced than they truly are. I'm not singling out Unitree, as it applies widely to all recent acrobatic demos in the industry. Here's a simple test: if you set up a wall in front of the side-flipping robot, it will slam into it at full force and make a spectacle. Because it's just overfitting that single reference motion, without any awareness of the surroundings. Here's why the paradox exists: it's much easier to train a "blind gymnast" than a robot that sees and manipulates. The former can be solved entirely in simulation and transferred zero-shot to the real world, while the latter demands extremely realistic rendering, contact physics, and messy real-world object dynamics - none of which can be simulated well. Imagine you can train LLMs not from the internet, but from a purely hand-crafted text console game. Roboticists got lucky. We happen to live in a world where accelerated physics engines are so good that we can get away with impressive acrobatics using literally zero real data. But we haven't yet discovered the same cheat code for general dexterity. Till then, we'll still get questioned by our confused parents.

The Incredible Machine was created by Kevin Ryan and published by Sierra in 1993. Not what anyone would have expected from Sierra at the time, since they were so heavily invested (and dominant) in the adventure game genre. But it was a smart move, because this game really was, well... incredible. Your job is to place, rotate, and connect these parts so they interact in a precise sequence of events to complete the level. There is no order or fixed way, you decide how and where. The goal could be as simple as "pop the balloon" or "put the ball in the basket" - but there were countless ways to do it. Rarely has a game made you think so much, often outside the box, yet never feel like a chore. It was pure fun and joy to figure out, and the multiple solutions made it even better, and also increasing replay value. Some games from the 80s and 90s really tested your brain. Not just mindless shooting or running, but connecting the dots, understanding abstract principles, and learning while playing. The Oregon Trail was one, as was Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?, and this one certainly belongs in that group too. A rare gem, loved it.
