「ズールー戦争」を描く大作は２本あり、「Zulu Dawn」(1979)は、バートランカスターやピーターオトゥールが出演しているにも関わらず日本未公開。この1979年版は英軍が大敗北して全滅したイサンドルワナの戦いを描いている。（ちなみにマイケルケインの63年版は英軍勝利の作品）

これ、第一戦が戦闘中に弾薬切れになり、補給部隊に弾薬を取りに行くと、緊急時にも関わらず補給隊員は順番に並ばせ、書類に署名させて補給するというシーンがありましたね。 弾はあるのに間に合わない、もの凄い皮肉でしたが、ある意味イギリス映画らしいなと思いました。😅

The force at Isandlwana was not annihilated, thats a myth, it was badly beaten with huge loses, but out of 1800men 500 survived, this includes the horsemen on right flank, 200+ native troops and 200 British troops and 3 officers. Plus the command HQ of Chelmsford got of lightly.

Zulu was about the far smaller battle at Rorke’s Drift.

They killed many hundreds of Zulus in the process.
