We,the AAP ,our National Convener Shri Arvind Kejriwal ji and our Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann ji unequivocally support Women’s Reservation in letter and spirit. We want it implemented properly,not as a political gimmick, but as genuine empowerment of our mothers and sisters. However,we vehemently oppose this draconian Delimitation Constitutional Amendment Bill. It is nothing but a deadly Trojan horse , a calculated assault on India’s federal democracy itself. This exercise will redraw the entire political map of the nation. States like Punjab, which have responsibly controlled population growth and fulfilled their national duty, are now being punished with unfair representation. This is not justice. This is pure electoral gerrymandering dressed up as reform. Worse still, the new Bill hands over dictatorial powers to a handpicked Delimitation Commission,and shockingly, no court in the land can challenge its orders. We will not stay silent while the soul of cooperative federalism is attacked.

On paper it looks like everybody is getting an equal percentage of increase, in Parliamentary democracy absolute numbers matter. At the moment, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry have 40 seats. Uttar Pradesh has 80 seats. So, the delta between Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Uttar Pradesh is 40. But if you increase the seats by 50%, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will go up to 60 and Uttar Pradesh will go to 120. So, the delta will become 60. So, absolute numbers matter in politics. It is not just percentages because in order to catch up with the north of India, there will be a far greater number for the southern states to do. The southern states have reduced population and have contributed more to tax but their number of Parliamentarians in the Lok Sabha will be deminished. Further, with 543 members in the House, we hardly get any time to speak. With 815, we will get less time to speak. The Speaker doesn't know the names of all of us and he will hardly know the name of extra 300 people who will come. So, the House will just become a stamping House like China...A larger Parliament will be an ineffective Parliament..."

Reaping the Fruits of Women-Led Development: Voice, Participation and Leadership—The Imperative for the World’s Largest + Oldest Democracy. In this inspirational and insightful piece PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji writes how women have made vast and invaluable contributions to the progress and development of the nation. Yet, their representation in the world of politics and legislative bodies has not always been commensurate with their role in society. Thank you to all who joined us in Brewer yesterday to fight to stop this senseless war. Full remarks and video below. ********* First, I want to say thank you to Food and Medicine for having me. The work of Food and Medicine, the Eastern Maine Labor Council, quite frankly, has really kept organizing alive and as part of the state for a long time. And if you have the time and the energy to get involved, I highly recommend that you do. I also just want to give a hearty thank you to everyone who's joined us here today. It means a lot and it also shows that this is, whether it's mothers, whether it's veterans, whether it's people just running for political office and part of our main community, nobody wants this war. Absolutely no one thinks that this is a good idea. And the reason why they don't want it is because they know what it's actually about. This is a war that's being pushed by Benjamin Netanyahu. He's been trying to make this war happen for almost 30 years. This is a war that's being pushed by the Saudis, who have also wanted this war to happen. Two nations that are happy to watch American blood be expended on their behalf. This war is also being pushed because Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. And other people in the White House, and other people connected with the Epstein class. They are terrified that we have noticed what they are doing. They are terrified that we're going to start wondering why the hell we let them stay in power. And to do that, they're going to do the oldest trick in the book. They're going to try to just start a war to distract all of us. They are willing to sacrifice the lives of young American men and women and the lives of Iranian civilians simply to protect their political interests. I cannot think of a more reprehensible act. I cannot think of a more unpatriotic act, of a more un-American act, than to send our sons and daughters off to die, to kill, to bring immense violence to innocent civilians abroad simply because you're afraid you might lose the midterms. It is disgusting. As reprehensible as it is, it's also important to remember that this situation we find ourselves in is only possible because we have had a Congress that for decades has abdicated its responsibility, its constitutional responsibility, in making war. We need to rescind the 2001 Authorization of Use of Military Force. Its vague language and lack of clarity has been abused by multiple administrations of both parties to carry out wars in the name of the military-industrial complex and those in power, to carry out military operations that did absolutely nothing to keep Americans safe, but made some people very, very wealthy and protected the political interests of those in power. It needs to go. But not only does it need to go, we need a war powers resolution that actually claws power back from the executive branch. The resolutions that are on the table, I highly recommend you call your elected officials and put pressure on them to vote for them. They are necessary, but they are not sufficient. We need a truly reformed War Powers Act, where we really pull the power back. No more 48 hours of combat operations where you have to notify Congress. No more 60 days of combat operations before you have to prove to Congress that you should have gone to war in the first place. No. We need to know why military force is used right off the bat. And it needs to be approved by Congress right off the bat. The Constitution is clear about who is supposed to have the power of waging war in this country. It is the body that is most representative of the American people because it is the American people who have to bear the brunt of combat. It is the American people who are asked to make the sacrifice. It is American families who have to bury their dead sons and daughters. It is American friends who have to watch their best friends come home from a war and struggle for years with physical and mental trauma.

1/ IS AMERICA A CHRISTIAN NATION? Charlie Kirk was once challenged on the Christian foundations of America, and delivered this classic unrehearsed riff. There's actually lots more to be said on this topic, but for now I'll just add 4 things to what he said. Read this and watch the video: 1. Upon our founding, it was actually 12/13 states that required a Christian religious test for office, and 9/13 states that had state-backed Christian religions funded by taxes. 2. The American concept of "government of, by and for the people" & our particular version of self-government is the literal and direct outgrowth of the Protestant concept of the priesthood of all believers that our Protestant congregations throughout the 13 Colonies practiced from the very beginning of their settlements in America. 3. The Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, Constitution and Bill of Rights did not create this Nation. PEOPLE constituted and created this Nation, and devised systems & documents to govern their Nation. The PEOPLE came first, not the documents. The NATION arose first, not the government. 4. To truly understand the purpose of the First Amendment, you have to remember that fights and quarrels over religion in the Old World led to centuries of war. You also need to understand that the inter-ethnic European rivalries also led to endless wars. Europe fought over race and religion for 2500 years. Maybe more. The First Congress of 1790 solved both of these problems in nearly identical ways: 1. The Naturalization Act of 1790 made all White people citizens, thereby making all White ethnicities EQUAL. Anglo Saxons weren't superior to Germans weren't superior to Frenchmen, weren't superior to Scandinavians, etc etc etc, (at least not in the eyes of the government or law. Lol). All White people were thus placed onto EQUAL footing. This eliminated the long-time European need & urge to fight wars over ethnic rivalries. 2. The First Amendment, proposed in 1790 & ratified in 1791, made all Christian denominations EQUAL. Lutherans weren't superior to Presbyterians weren't superior to Congregationalists weren't superior to Quakers, weren't superior to Anglicans, etc etc etc. In fact, 11/14 states had official religious tests for public office, requiring a variety of Christian denominations. A few states still had official Christian religions funded by state taxes. Not only did the 1st Amendment preserve the freedoms of worship and conscience—two of the biggest reasons Europeans came to America in the first place—but it eliminated the long-time European need & urge to fight wars over religious differences. And just to really drive the point home for the haters & the ignorant: obviously, the 11 states that had Christian religious tests for office when they passed & ratified the First Amendment didn't do so in order to negate or abrogate their state-sponsored religions or religious tests—quite the opposite: they did it so that they could KEEP their unique state-backed Christian religions & Christian religious tests without being overruled by the federal government or brought into conflict with their fellow states. DUH. ******* When John Adams said our Constitution was meant only for a moral & religious people, he wasn't speaking abstractly about morality or religion in general, he was specifically referring to Christian morality and the Christian religion. The fact is, America is Christian from the ground up. From the beginning, it grew up around the Christian churches. It was built by Christians. And it was Christians who conceived, conceptualized and created our forms of government and institutions. You can say the same about our White European heritage genetics and culture. America is White. America is Christian. They are inseparably connected and indisputably fundamental to this nation & our founding. And the First Congress recognized both of these vital factors. That is why even in 1965, when Congress decided to overthrow the White Christian order (by passing the new Immigration Act against the will of the American people), America was still about 89% White and 93% Christian. Because America placed all European ethnicities and Christian denominations onto equal footing, our broad European racial & cultural similarities along with our common general Christian beliefs UNITED us here, rather than DIVIDING us as they had in Europe—which was itself a Christian realm, or "Christendom." IOW, America became the real European Union—largely because of the Naturalization Act of 1790 and the First Amendment (1790-91). We’re governed by psychopaths who operate with cold pragmatism, ruthless, detached and driven less by values than by outcomes. To them, people become abstractions, reduced to numbers on a balance sheet. Money is the primary metric and when wealth no longer satisfies, influence and control take its place. Take Ukraine, It is devastated, heavily dependent on external funding, even to pay basic salaries. Yet at the same time, some of its wealthiest elites, many of whom built fortunes through deals that tied the country’s assets to powerful foreign financial and corporate interests like black Rock are seen having lavish events in places like Cannes. Inviting American singers to perform for millions of dollars on their birthdays and weddings. Meanwhile, young men are being sent to fight and die. This is what people’s stupidity and ugliness looks like. And if you think it’s only Ukraine, I suggest you look in the mirror. We live in a country where Congress is powerless by chose most of them are bought out by AIPAC money. All the while, they ask you for money for war, but the profits are theirs the entire time. Now we have airline CEOs openly saying that ticket prices are higher because of fuel costs and tensions with Iran. But they also admit that when fuel prices go down, ticket prices will stay high because people are willing to pay. And then they dare to tell you that you live in capitalism. No under capitalism, you take the risk and keep the reward. That's how capitalism works. What we have in America is corporatism, you take the risk and they keep the reward!
